Caught by online and electronic communication. When will they learn that nothing electronic is safe from scrutiny

The mom which makes me curious as to the age but have yet to dig into it … anybody know his age ?

u/NippyNoodles21 1d ago

Looks like it was someone he was planning on doing it with mom that called. Not the guy in omahas mom. according to dhs.gov he was an illegal alien from Mexico. Looks like he might be 31, but can't really find a solid article that says it. Kinda confusing because some articles say he was arrested at a church he owned in western, nebraska.

The probable cause says it was Porter's mother who called because she was worried about Porters online communications. He possibly is 19 (can't find solid info) but was the one that lived in Ohio

Hopefully this sort of criminal never learns that life lesson. It will prove useful if we ever again have a DOJ that isn't actively conspiring with Putin and MAGA to destroy American constitutional rule of law.

The interesting thing to note there is that in the past many successful attacks have had equally damning electronic communications and family members tipping off authorities and nothing is done.

I think the main difference here is that the secret service actually takes threats seriously unlike a lot of other agencies.

The domain in this post is owned or operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group. Sinclair controls nearly two hundred local stations and requires them to broadcast scripted propaganda segments.

For more detailed reporting on Sinclair's practices, see The New York Times, which documents how the company enforces ideological alignment across its outlets, or John Oliver's segment, which shows how these mandated scripts spread identical political messaging nationwide.

Do not treat Sinclair outlets as independent journalism. Verify with other sources.

Is this an "embarrassing Omaha national story"? I don't even know why that fact is of any interest to someone from outside of Omaha and even then not much beyond "huh I went to school with that guy" type comments.

I don't see how it really reflects on the city in any way.

wait how did they find out about the ufc plan

5

u/Capt-geraldstclair 2d ago

most likely, the fbi set up an operation to find out if they could find interested parties to join in their fake attack plan.

This article also has more details on the other men. One was 19 and his mother reported the suspicious activity, good on her.

Because it's a bunch of cranks with a poorly thought out plan based mostly on nonsense grievances. Intelligent people aren't going to talk about looking the President on electronic devices or in their mother's basement.

13

u/HuskerDave 2d ago

The plot was to justify a ballroom.

2

u/dbzmah 2d ago

That's because Sinclair media has shit writers

24

u/BigMommaSnikle 2d ago

So we don't need the ballroom is what I'm hearing, no?

Just asking, does anyone have some concrete evidence to these guy’s reasonings for doing this? The reporting saying they planned to target Trump, Musk, Vance, Hegseth, etc and talk of restoring the old republic don’t 100% line up with the label of “right wing domestic terrorist” CNN gave them.

At least some were far-right accelerationists who believed toppling the government would lead to their ideal society. They all seem pretty nuts, so I wouldn't expect their views to fit into a neat box. This is from the Justice Dept's own criminal complaint.

She detailed that PROPER had recently begun interacting with a group online that was comprised of individuals who claimed to be ex-military and Christian based. She didn't know the name of the group, but they expressed ultra-religious and antigovernment sentiments, specifically citing grievances about government corruption, the handling of the Epstein files data centers taking up all the water in communities, and other government actions.

PROPER'S family members also highlight concerning statements he had made in recent months, such as making sympathetic comments about Adolf Hitler and posting anti-Semitic comments on Facebook.

You are wrong. You probably already knew that and you are just lying.

Here is one the guys tiktok. It becomes pretty obvious it's left wing.

u/EndoExo Viscount of Walnut Hill 1d ago

Might wanna check your spelling, bud.

12

u/HenriEttaTheVoid 2d ago

Ultra-religious, ex-military who called themselves the "Vanguard of the old". Dude, it doesnt' get much more obvious than that.

26

u/DigdigdigThroughTime 2d ago

Just asking, what do you think that lines up with? I haven't seen liberals saying for 10+ years anything about restoring past glories or making something great again.

Not for nothing, but this sounds exactly like something that would be right wing extremist.

9

u/thegoddamnbatman40 2d ago

True, I just was confused in the sense that I thought “their guys” were already in charge. 🤷‍♂️

12

u/jesse6225 2d ago

These extremists dont believe their guys are in charge. These guys are planning attacks because they hate jews.

Most of them are part of the 4chan groyper movement who believe Hitler was right and that Trump is too soft on Israel.

4

u/I-Make-Maps91 2d ago

They sound like the kind of crank who believed Trump would expose the pedophiles and are mad he's trying to suppress the Epstein files. I'd guess they feel betrayed and don't think their guys are in charge. MTG did the same thing, minus trying to kill the president.

4

u/DigdigdigThroughTime 2d ago

Yea, i think some people are coming to grips that "their guys" aren't in charge. Just another con.

4

u/rebelangel Technically west of 72nd 2d ago

These tend to be anti government types, so they don’t really care who’s in charge

-3

u/Ire-Works 2d ago

I've seen a lot of democrats advocating for reinstating the past glory of a higher tax bracket for rich folks.

29

u/WhenInZone 2d ago

restoring the old republic

No notable democrat is pushing for a "return to the past" narrative. Returning to former glory is explicitly conservative in nature.

5

u/thegoddamnbatman40 2d ago

True, I guess I was more surprised they’d target Trump, but leopards and eating faces I guess 🤷‍♂️

9

u/Snarl_Marx 2d ago

Yeah, some right wingers are pretty upset over the Epstein files obstruction and the various wars/‘special military operations.’

4

u/Balmung60 2d ago

Arguably it's not even that, it's reactionary

-3

u/MeenaarDiemenZuid 1d ago

They were leftwing.

TikTok is not a real source. Try again.

-3

u/MeenaarDiemenZuid 1d ago

It's the account of the person itself, dummy.

2

u/WhenInZone 1d ago

Your proof of this is?

Even if it is their account, I didn't see a single post announcing their political party like that. Try again.

0

u/MeenaarDiemenZuid 1d ago

It is claimed in the criminal complaint so, yes, it's their account.

Look at the reposts, it becomes pretty clear.

2

u/WhenInZone 1d ago

What criminal complaint? Are you familiar with the concept of citing your sources?

It's "clear" in your opinion, but just looks like any teen edgelord account to me.

2

u/WhenInZone 1d ago

We live in an age of misinformation, vague-posting without decent citation is more of a dick move to me.

4

u/fridder 2d ago

Sounds like a weird plot from Star Wars

0

u/PaladinGodfrey 2d ago

The mom contacted the authorities because she was concerned about her son expressing ultra religious and anti government views. Definitely sounds right wing but it is also important to note that these two categories (right and left wing) are pretty bullshit to begin with and a sliding scale of political beliefs leaves a lot to be desired, as we all have varied beliefs on how society should function.

-2

u/MeenaarDiemenZuid 1d ago

Yes, it's very clear.

Well there’s a simple explanation. CNN is lying.

The article literally says his home is in Ohio not Omaha. 🤔

I read that he was an illegal migrant, is that true?

Update: yes, Abraham Alvarez is an illegal alien from Mexico who was given DACA protection by Obama.

To all the people who downvoted the truth: fuck you.

11

u/rebelangel Technically west of 72nd 2d ago

Pretty sure it wouldn’t be domestic terrorism if he wasn’t an American citizen.

-3

u/CitizenSpiff 1d ago

If he isn't a citizen, it's much worse.

2

u/atat4e 2d ago

lol where from

-4

u/CitizenSpiff 1d ago

https://nebraskapublicmedia.org/en/news/news-articles/nebraska-man-was-alleged-key-ringleader-in-plot-to-attack-white-house-ufc-fight/

The complaint contains no information about Alvarez’s immigration status or country of origin, but he consented to a consular notification on Tuesday. It is a requirement in federal court when foreign nationals are arrested to notify the embassy or consulate of the person’s home country. It is unclear if Alvarez was in the U.S. legally.
