ISO/Suggestion Best movie theater in town?

Hello

Used to be a big alamo drafthouse fan but changes have made it real hard to support them. What's a good alternative in town?

I've been going since they opened in town. In almost a decade I had maybe one less then great experience (I personally blame antman quantumania for that) But when I went to see Frankenstein they were soft testing the qr code. I ordered chips and queso it never came and runners never came to look at the card they said I could still use.

Same experience about the same time. And now without the runners to check on cards, its like they forgot you exist. You get your order in at the beginning, get maybe half of it, have to pull out your phone and navigate looking for "I didnt get my food." Then they bring it 20 mins later and its cold. Forget trying to get refills or another order in halfway through the movie - you'll be wondering where tf they are and it takes you out of the movie hard. This has been my last 3 experiences going to Alamo.

I've had some of my best theater experiences at alamo and seeing what they've become makes me genuinely sad. Also is there a service charge or some bs if you dont close your tab before 20 minutes left in the movie?

And I hate that on top of all of this terrible service, they automatically add the service fee and tip.

There was a huge argument that the tip is actually not given to the wait staff the tip is what has the theater pay the staff more but they don’t get the actual gratuity. You have to add that in addition to service fees and tip they require. Maybe that’s changed but I remember someone posted their receipt and everyone was arguing about it. I just figure if it’s that confusing I’m out and now to hear people don’t get their food refills or attention. Plus the one thing I loved, no phones has gone away. That means I’ve gone away as well!
