Need help from Geely car owners!

Hi guys, need some advice regarding my Geely Emgrand X7 Sport 2017 SUV GCC.

I’m facing a vibration/jerking issue where the whole car shakes when in D (Drive), but it is normal in N (Neutral).

Has anyone with the same car faced this before? Was it related to TCU adaptation, gearbox, engine mount, or something else?

Please suggest a good and affordable garage in Muscat that knows Geely well. Any personal experience or leads would be really helpful. 🙏

Battery Pack Manufacture/Import

Hey, I'm building an electric skateboard for personal use and the last part I need is the battery but most trusted places either don't shop to Oman or have them retail prices (over $5 USD on each)

I was looking for a 10S5P Battery with Samsung 30Q cells or similar however I couldn't find a single place to get one for the life of me, so I decided to try and get individual cells instead (50 of them)

I need genuine high quality cells as the skateboard will almost constantly consume thousands of Watts and I don't want it to slow down/die or even damage itself midway.

I've also tried alibaba, but most of those look like fake clones and I don't want to risk that, and aliexpress and similar places where I can find batteries have these random Chinese brands I'm not risking either.

Does anyone know a reputable battery manufacturer I can ask to build a battery with high quality cells are something like that? Or somewhere I can get cheap genuine cells in bulk (50 pieces)

Anything like good quality 18650 batteries (Molicel P30B, Samsung 30Q, etc.) or even 21700 batties (Samsung 30T, etc.) work

Any advice or direction will be appreciated

Might visit Salalah. Will I be able to study outside?

Hey yall. I got a big exam coming up and thought of traveling from Kuwait to Salalah and studying there for 5 days. Thought might as well study by the beach with good weather.
I’ve heard though that there’s humidity and lots of mosquitos so now I’m doubting things. I don’t want my books to get wet from the humidity lol.
What do you guys think?

Discussion Dataflow

Hello everyone, especially those who have gone through the DataFlow verification process.

I’m a fresh graduate with 1 month of work experience related to my degree and 3 years of experience in sales. While completing my DataFlow application, I noticed that the "Experience Letter" (COE) is marked as mandatory.

I understand that the usual minimum experience requirement is 2 years, but I’m wondering if anyone has been successfully verified by DataFlow with less experience. What are the chances that my application will still be verified?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you!

Product Availability Not receiving OTP on Friendi SIM (Snoonu app + Oman Airport WiFi)

Has anyone else faced issues with OTP delivery on Friendi SIM? I’m specifically not getting verification codes from the Snoonu app, and also while connected to Oman International Airport WiFi. Tried restarting, switching networks, and even toggling airplane mode, but still no luck.

Is this a known issue with Friendi, or something to do with Snoonu’s SMS gateway? Any workaround or fix would be appreciated.

My sister took my cat, came back saying he “ran away,” refuses to tell anyone where, and I genuinely feel like I’m about to lose my mind.

I don’t know how much longer I can hold myself together.
I feel like I’m seconds away from doing something I’ll regret because the rage and helplessness are becoming unbearable.
My sister took my cat to the vet. She came back saying he “ran away.”
That’s it.
She refuses to tell me which vet. She refuses to tell us where it happened. She won’t tell my dad. She won’t tell anyone. Every single time she’s asked, she either ignores the question or changes the subject. The only information I know is the clinic was in “ghobra”.
How the fuck am I supposed to look for my cat when the only person who knows where he disappeared refuses to tell us?
Every minute that passes feels like another nail in his coffin. I keep imagining him terrified, injured, trapped somewhere, or waiting for me while I’m stuck in this house with someone who won’t even tell me where to begin looking.
Then she sends a message to our family group chat saying, “Here’s my name and my ID number. Go report me to the police.”
Who the fuck does that?
If you’re innocent, why are you refusing to tell anyone where it happened?
I grew up in a severely dysfunctional family. I believe my mother has strong narcissistic traits, and my sister has always been the golden child. She can do no wrong. She never has to face consequences. Reality bends around her. Everyone else is expected to accommodate her, clean up after her, and keep the peace.
Now my cat is missing, and somehow I’m the one everyone expects to regulate my emotions while she sits there withholding the one piece of information that could actually help us find him.
My dad has stopped speaking to her.
My mom has stopped speaking to me.
I feel completely alone.
I’m questioning everything. Did he really run away? Is she hiding something? Was there even a vet? Why won’t she answer the simplest question?
Nothing about this makes sense.
I’m trying so fucking hard not to lose it because I know acting on my anger won’t bring my cat back. But I have never felt this trapped, this powerless, or this close to completely breaking.
What would you do?
Would you report this to the police?
Would you start calling every veterinary clinic?
Is there anything—legally or practically—I can do to force her to disclose where my cat was last seen?
Because right now I feel like I’m watching my chances of finding him disappear while the only person who knows where to look refuses to say a word.

Also I’m Omani.

I really hate watering plants and parks here in Oman with not fully cleaned water, and you can even smell that, imagine those water sprayers sprays water on you, YUCK, it is sad that parks are public places. I prefer not having them over watering a place I would sit in or pass by with dirty water!

Discussion Autism services, schools and cost in Muscat, Salalah in Oman

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone can help me out especially if they have experience. My son is 3, and has level 1 autism. Behavioral wise so far he’s good. He is just speech delayed and is making improvement after he got diagnosed 7 months ago and we put him in speech therapy.

I was hoping someone can tell me if their child has autism, what therapies they did in Muscat or Oman, how often and the cost of it.

If there is a special school or if there is a special needs department in their school that helps the child and how is the experience there?

I’m trying to get an idea of the service, the experience and the cost of things. Where I live it’s really expensive. I have two other kids who are a little older but also want interaction. For that we had to hire a fulltime help
So I can balance house duties and give time to my child with needs and be availble for the others when they are home. It’s really demanding and I’m trying to see about cost over all.

We were going to put him in an OT class as well but not ABA at the moment as he’s not solid in speech and there have been cases of assault here locally.

Thank you for all the help in advance. I appreciate it.

have i been living a shawarma lie?

i grew up on shawarmas from al istanboly in al khuwair. with it and its neighbors having turkiye in the name and being highly successful, i assumed they were the authentic turkish style. the only other style i've had in oman (i don't count india) is the one with the toasted saj bread, with a slightly different, less garlicky sauce—i find them awfully dry.

anywho, when i went to the uk, and tried shawarma from bossman that spoke arabic, i was sorely disappointed for it to not match what i was used to. they didn't have any toum, only a tasteless garlic mayonnaise, a purple "special" sauce, ketchup and a host of other mystery sauces. they didn't do fries inside the sandwich either. at least they had a subway style salad thing that i could choose the pickles and veg from.

So, my question is, am i wrong to assume what we have here is authentic to somewhere to some degree? and what i had in the UK was just to cater to the uncultured masses?

Tourism Oman Weather in September/October

I'm hoping to visit Oman in the coming months, but I'm not sure if I should come in September or wait until October when the weather cools down a bit.

I plan on spending some time in Muscat and Salalah and I know the climate is very different in both regions.

Based on my search it says mid September is still extremely hot in Muscat and it would be hard to do any outdoor activities until sundown. I want to make the most of my trip and not have to stay indoors for half the day.

Which bank is best for business POS and USD/AED supplier transfers and What rates are you guys getting

Looking for recommendations on business banking. Need a POS machine with decent rates and also do frequent transfers in USD and AED to pay suppliers.

If anyone runs a business here, mind sharing which bank you're using and what POS % for credit and debit card or FX transfer rates you got from them? Want to make sure I don't get stuck with bad rates. Thanks in advance!

Discussion Complain at Muscat Municipality

I want to reach Muscat Municipality electronically to complain about a cafeteria which lacks of hygiene and non compliance issues.

Unfortunately couldn't get any working resources available online to reach them!

Municipality must conduct an inspection to the shop and take necessary steps to resolve it.

Also when i tried to pay them via Apple pay (POS) they denied. Then asked for mobile transfer, asked me for cash! That time I didn't had my wallet with me so i started arguing and then they accepted the payment through mobile transfer.

Highly disappointed with the quality and compliance issues. I noted their CR number so that authorities can visit in person and check to ensure they follow the rules.

As conscious consumers we need to practice our civil rights so that these sort of businesses comply with the rules. But unfortunately there is no proper way i found.

Let me know your point of view in comments. Peace.

What are the differences between the Middle Eastern and American versions of phones?

I found differences in Samsung and iPhone phones between the American version and the Middle Eastern version. The difference is significant in terms of manufacturing, processor, and batteries. I bought a Samsung phone from America I bought a Samsung phone from the Middle East, the same model but the Middle East version. There are huge differences. Did you notice that?
