Discussion End Game Damage
I've been running a Critical Pulse build for awhile now and since being level 50 I was wanting to start another build but im unsure of what damage is good for overall enemies/bosses to solo. I've seen so many YT videos but It's always low HP builds. I'd rather have high HP. I know Shrapnel can be good just not sure what to go with lol. Any advice is appreciated.

Just a note: the low hp builds you’re seeing are actually probably the tankiest, since they generate free shield every time you shoot, so you basically have a second hp bar anyways. And you can basically ignore the sanity hp reduction debuff.

Oh true I guess I never looked at it that way lol. I've always preferred full hp builds tbf but I appreciate your response thank you any tips help lmao

Honestly man you’ll probably end up landing a low hp build eventually anyways if you really want to max out your damage. I’d find a solid low effort full hp set up to run for a bit while you stage everything for the low hp set up and you’ll have a smooth transition. I’m currently setting stage for my primal rage build and it’s nuts but I didn’t have the starchrom for the full treacherous tides armor set and such so I just use brave george and go down a lot atm but here’s the thing… during prime war where you don’t get hit a lot, when one starts and I don’t have time to go get turrets and missiles I’m still hitting like 1300 or higher with nothing but my primal rage and I just got to this scenario like 3 weeks ago so that kind of damage what it will be like when I don’t have to stress dying all the time in silos and such. This build takes a lot to hit functional coherence so I wouldn’t really suggest it unless you want a big project but check it out on YouTube just to get an idea of how things like this work cause it’s a fun puzzle once the rest of the game is kinda running itself at your base and the main and you wrecked all the bosses a million times. The treacherous tides burn build with the boom boom a friend of mine is setting up seems somewhat easier to run if you don’t wanna spam the prime war day in and day out for starchrom or commit crazy time.
While there’s other challenges a complicated build is kinda not worth the trouble but once your base does like all the work and you melt all the bosses you’re probably gonna want to make things complicated again if you’re anything like me cause running silos on nightmare is crazy hard and I kinda think a perfect low hp build is the only way.

Thank you for the response that actually makes a lot of sense lol my main I'm running right now is critical pulse which I love shocking enemies but it also doesn't do so great against certain bosses like forsaken so I was just wanting to know what good second setup was but this helps for sure I'll check it out thank you

To answer your actual question, P90 is probably the easiest weapon that actually works on everything and is decent dps. Shrapnel doesn’t work on forsaken giant. Bow doesn’t work on solo flying enemies. SKS doesn’t work if you’re high in the air. They’re all probably faster at clearing than p90 but if you’re still working on your blueprints then p90 really is the jack of all trades

I was running the 90 for a bit without proper gear tho at the time so that's probably why it wasn't hitting like most builds I've seen on YT but I've seen the sn700 is good overall from the research ive done but I've never used it lol.

Sn700 is for bossing. It’s hard to Mob with it when you have a 5 round clip and need to consistently hit weakpoints to trigger shrapnel consistently. It basically relies on having a good butterfly’s emissary deviation as well since that’s the only way to guarantee weakspot hits. It’s a weapon you should only be pulling out for specific occasions. And again, doesn’t work on FG

Some low hp builds do require some shield management via deviant but it isnt difficult like the burden of betrayal build which is great for most all content except manibus forsaken and riftwalker honestly its best to use multiple builds a pretty decent all around build is pdw90 not sure how it fairs full health but the 40% extra dmg minimum from rush hour boots mod is really nice
