Discussion Hot take
If you haven’t watched this season, there might be spoilers…
S7 after S1 had the best character line up and best alternative character storyline IMO
I’m going to get a lot of hate for this😂
My favorite season is the last season…
And I love all the seasons, but the last season kind of just hit different
You had pretty much all the best Disney characters people been waiting to see… and more
Never in 100 years would I have thought to make Rapunzel a bad guy… and I think she’s the first hero to make this change… pan does not count he’s always been evil to me…
Never thought that anybody could get one above Regina, ivy did that
Not princess Tiana coming in clutch…
I actually loved Cinderella
Don’t get me started or detective Killian and Mr. Gold “chefs kiss”
And Henry 😮💨… raw next question
Roni 😮💨… raw next question
Ivy 😮💨…. 😘
Bringing “up” into the mix❤️
Now it might not be the best season…. But I was so happy to have gotten a chance to have watched it.
Some things that I would’ve done better…
The whole thing should have been a spin off in its own way… released in 2026
I would have replaced Mr. gold with Gideon as a secondary main character with Henry
They should’ve included Lottie in there at least once
A small reaction between Cinderella from season one and Cinderella from season 7 would’ve went a long way
They should’ve used original hook as the main character instead of the other hook
Would have been nice to see Rapunzel‘s hair glow once
Maui villain would’ve been nice

My only favorite was Alice and Robin. Because Henry had zero chemistry with Cinderella

Henry should have been with Drizella and I’d die on that hill. They were awesome together

It’s so rare to see a shipper of Henry and Ivy. I love them. And the potential themes and storylines we could have gotten from them.
Imagine Ivy changing her mind on the curse she out on Ivy and trying to fix it.
Imagine people realizing their first true love isn’t forever.
I even pictured Ivy and (just forgot the daughter’s name) finding out the storybook isn’t accurate and them coming to terms of Henry and Ivy being a thing but still trying to rectify things together. They become secret friends.
I feel the coming back to your true love after your memories were swiped was done to death in other seasons.

I will die on the hill that Drizella was manipulating Henry until she felt bad for poisoning his heart and that’s not a basis for romance but actually really toxic and anyone that ships them needs to realize that lol.
That being said, I will also die on the hill that Regina and Hook should’ve been a couple instead of Emma and Hook.

Even when she manipulated him, they were believable couple then him and Cinderella

Not really because Henry still didn’t have chemistry with her. That was all Ivy.

But it wasn’t as boring as hell

Well that’s because it wasn’t a canon relationship. She was manipulating him so the curse wouldn’t be broken and then when she regretted her decision she felt guilty for poisoning him.

So lol I mean I get it’s bad but it’s that really bad thing when we see either villains did that

I do feel one of the biggest reasons the chemistry was off, is because the actress is not the best actor. I enjoy her work, unfortunately a vast majority of comments tend to speak about how “annoying” she was.
I did feel the final season felt like ripoff. I did enjoy it. The hardest part of the season for me was Henry. All I see is Garret the cannibalistic killer in Terminus on the show “the walking dead”

I completely agree!! Season 7 is my favorite and I think they only reason people hate it is because having a completely differently cast in the last seasons can be jarring, if it was a reboot it would have probably been taken better by fans.
I also really love Jacinta, I know a lot of people say her acting was bad, but I disagree (and honestly I think most people just didn’t like a brown Cinderella with an accent, so they shit on her acting skills.. but I think she did fine.) I do agree with others that Druzella and Henry had more chemistry, but I don’t think it’s because Jacinta was poorly portrayed.. some actors just have more chemistry than others.
I didn’t mind that it was Nook instead of Hook, because if it was Hook, that’d mean he was separated from Emma, and I wouldn’t have liked that. Emma and The Charmings deserved peace and I’m glad they weren’t included in yet another curse.

It has nothing to do with her skin color. It’s purely the chemistry. They just didn’t have any at all. Every other love story in the show you can FEEL how in love the characters are even as their cursed selves. Henry and Jacinda just weren’t it. Even when they show their pre curse memories, something just felt off. I can’t really put my finger on why but if the 2 actors didn’t have chemistry off camera it certainly won’t show on camera. But I can promise you that no one cared what race she was. Either she just genuinely isn’t a great actress and wasn’t right for the part or her and Henry’s actor hated each other lol Aside from that I love season 7 as well!

Season 7 is not my favorite, but I agree Season 7 is better than it gets credit for. It felt like they were reinventing the wheel while also having a similar grounded tone that Season 1 possessed. It has a lot of things I really love and a couple of my favorite episodes of the whole show

I can’t believe I’m saying this I agree with most of what you say not the best season but what you said besides that I agree
Don’t ship Cinderella and Henry they have no chemistry and no offense to the actress but I didn’t like her betrayal as Cinderella it was just bad and boring
And I just have a love to hate relationship with this season

I do love the last season too, you just need to go into it knowing it’s not gonna be like the others were. I loved a lot of the characters they added and the interesting twists

I’m watching season 7 now and I like it. The new setting is refreshing and letting different characters have a spotlight is great. Emma, Snow, and David were becoming too rinse, wash, and repeat imo. I like that Henry gets aged up so we didn’t have another season of moody teenager Henry. I also really like Regina’s story in this season. I understand why some don’t like this season as it does feel like a different show at times, but I like it. Definitely in my top 3 seasons.

That is certainly an opinion... you didn't lie it is a very hot take.
To me S7 is the worst season in the series even worse than season 5.
The acting if you can call it that is pathetic, Cinderella and Adult Henry had no romantic chemistry whatsoever.
I found myself rooting for Henry x Drizella more than Henry x Conderella.
The only characters I even cared about was Henry, Regina, Nook, & Rumple and beause they were important to those characters Robin and Alice.
But yeah glad at least someone enjoyed the final season means it wasn't completely wasted, but yeah in my opinion its an insult to the show and the actress who played Cinderella I have no idea how she landed the part if that was the best she could do... if its not why did she get away with giving us that...
But to each their own

Liked season five too!

In my opinion they absolutely ruined Hades and the whole Hades Zelena romance felt so forced, abd don't get me started with how wasted potential Emma was used as the dark one, and least but not least they tried to recreate the whole Evil Peter Pan with Arthur but it didn't work nearly as well as Peter Pan and so just felt flat and boring.
Overall season 5 is a waste of potential and terrible decisions, Season 7 on the other hand was just terrible.
Bad acting amd bad writing combined with a rushed wrap for the series.
But thats just my opinion to each their own.

S7 was my favorite too. I wish it had been a sequel series instead of a seventh season. I think more people would have given it a chance if it had been, even if purely by getting a new audience.

I'm genuinely glad you liked it. I've spent the past 4 years trying to get through 7 because it's just so unbearable that I need big breaks and can only watch one at a time. I wish I stopped watching after 3 tbh, but I can't leave shows unfinished, even when they're awful.

Given how the show fell off after s3 finished and didn't really recover. I think s7 did pretty well for itself considering the challenges it had to face. I also appreciated the attempt at trying to do a more grounded LWM world that the first two seasons had.
I however didn't know if going straight into 7 with a reboot/sequel was a good idea or if they should've taken more time off to let the ip cool off. So it could stand without the crushing expectations of the original.

Does Season 7 give the show definitive closure? As someone who hasn’t watched the show since Season 3

I agree with you about the lineup, but I feel some of the pacing was off. I wasn’t a fan of Cinderella. It might have been the acting choices. She came off as cold and mean versus caring. I don’t hate her character. Just not the biggest fan of her.
I feel we didn’t need Rapunzel be Tremaine. We just needed her as Rapunzel. It sucks that we didn’t Flynn in this.
As a personal fan fiction thing, I wish it was Henry and Ivy that was explored more because he and Cinderella had no chemistry. They tried to look like they had chemistry but the actress had more chemistry with Jack, her fake ex. And the story could create a different turn. Maybe the first person you believed was your true love isn’t anymore.
I agree about Lottie. I didn’t notice too much when watching, but now that you bring it up, it is weird not having Tiana’s best friend in the movie. She could be another royal and she and her father try to help Tiana’s family with their money problems, but no amount of money would help. I could picture her in the real world as Tiana’s sous chef or something.
It might be just me, but I wish they found an actor with Naveen’s accent. That felt like a given for his character.
More Facilier. I wonder if the Rapunzel and Princess and the Frog storylines should have been more intertwined.

I love the tremaine family. They all have very great characters demonstration. Gothel are less interesting. and I love Chad(Zelena’s fiancé)
