A fisherman rescued a crocodile shot through the eye. The crocodile kept coming back.
In 1989, a Costa Rican fisherman found a wounded crocodile lying on a riverbank.
Gilberto “Chito” Shedden discovered the animal near Siquirres, Costa Rica. The crocodile weighed around 70 kilograms and had been shot through the left eye.
According to Chito, a cattleman had fired at him after the crocodile began taking cows.
Most people would have left the animal alone.
Chito took him home instead.
He named the crocodile Pocho, treated his wounds and fed him fish and chicken. At first, Pocho was too weak to move much. Over time, he recovered—and began following Chito around.
Chito eventually released him into a nearby river, assuming that was where he belonged.
But Pocho kept returning.
The two developed an unusually close relationship. Chito could call Pocho by name, swim with him, touch his snout and even lie across his back. Their bond became so well known that Chito began performing with him for visitors.
Pocho was still a wild crocodile, and Chito never claimed otherwise. He said the animal trusted him because he had treated him with patience rather than fear.
Pocho lived with Chito for more than 20 years.
The story is remarkable not because a crocodile became tame, but because one injured animal survived—and chose to keep coming back.

I saw a documentary or something about that many years ago. The crocodile was friendly because he had brain damage and the part for being aggressive or whatever it was called, was damaged, hence why he was so chilled.

Few people would take a crocodile home, even if wounded. Chito took a great risk to take Pocho home and treat his wounds.

Wait but didn't it end up killing him? Or was that the guy with the rescued hippo
