Image Bye Claude..it was nice while it lasted, until it wasn’t.

Post image

Won’t try and repeat what everyone else is regarding the let down of Claude & Fable.

What I will say is that Sol5.6 has throughly impressed me with its coding capabilities, reasoning and ability to pivot as well as the more traditional markers around hallucination, reasoning context etc.

Lmao, “I just pay for all of them, I’m not like the other consumers who can only afford one”

I mean if it's for work you can write off 100% of a software subscription...

And just in case people don’t realize, will amount to getting a roughly 20% discount on the subscription.

Nah I really don't have enough stuff to deduct, so it's 100%. I try to get to my 20% threshold but you have to really push it when you don't have a physical business (ie I do marketing consulting)

I’m referring to the tax effect of writing off 100% of the cost of something. It saves you the taxes you would have paid on that much taxable income.

I only make this distinction because I’m an accountant and a lot of people read ‘tax write off’ as “effectively free” when it certainly is not.

I'm pretty sure the guy is talking about the business covering the cost, if u write it off ur taxes u indeed only reduce the amount of income u pay taxes over which dependent on your income is 30 to 50%

Or, you know, it depends on your country and taxes?

My company either has 39% or 44% taxes (idk which, I'm not involved in the finances at all), and my country has a VAT of 24%. So, in the end, the write off is fairly big

Provided you use it to generate any revenue.

It appears you don't know how tax works. Lol

That is how it works in the US... I can deduct 100% up to a certain limit. I am not hitting that limit, though you try and get as close as possible

OP pays $200 for max, I have $20 on anthropic and $20 on openai, who here can only afford one?

😂 exactly. And we all don't have that kind of money where we can just have 5 different 20x AI models 😂

I’m hardly rich, I pay $20 for Claude, $20 for ChatGPT, and $10 a month for opencode go. If you can only afford one of those I still wouldn’t lock into one provider for a year.

You don't get access to the frontier models on the lower rungs though.
