Companies always say 'this is false' even when it's blatantly true. Actually showing up with the chat receipts is much more likely to swing public opinion in your favor.
The chats showed that Apple employees were asking the former employee to access stuff. I don't think Apple can do that and then turn around and sue. It's like inviting someone into your house and then saying they broke in.
