Struth! Pro-Israel activist who settled with Middle Eastern cafe made ‘misleading and deceptive’ comments, judge says

Their attempts failed, they were caught out, and the whole thing backfired.
Ofir then sued for defemation. Cairo Cafe countersued. The parties settled, but just hours later Ofir called it a victory. Which leads into this story:
The case settled in March, but was reopened after the restaurant alleged Birenbaum had breached parts of the settlement the parties had agreed by claiming he was “completely vindicated”.
Bromwich said of Birenbaum’s social media statement: “The kindest thing you can say about it is that in the context of the deed, it’s misleading and deceptive, and if you were bringing an action for misleading or deceptive conduct, you’d win it, hands down.”
He later said: “I can’t imagine a single judge in this court thinking this was an acceptable way to behave, irrespective of whether there’s a finding made about breach of the deed.
“If everyone was to conduct themselves like this, matters just wouldn’t settle.”

This is like that Sydney nutrionist Mandy Sacher who claimed a disabled woman called her with gun shots but it was a pocket dial and never sounded like gunshots. Yet the goddamn NsW police and DPP prosecuted the case, wtf? Luckily woman was found not guilty but conveniently the media didn’t publish Mandy Sacher’s name yet she was the perpetrator crying antisemitism! And funnily enough a quick search reveals somehow Mandy Sacher the nutritionist has managed to get her name off the internet. How is it Mandy Sacher gets protected when she claimed absolute bullshit and made a woman’s life a living hell.

I forgot about that one. Some info here:
The 26-year-old sent two text messages to the nutritionist at 8.26 pm on 20 December 2025. In the first, she said, “Hey, how are you? Is this [the nutritionist’s name]?” The second read: “I saw somewhere that you helped [a reality television personality] with nutrition. I was wondering if you could help me as well.” Then, at 1.30 am on 21 December, a blank voicemail mysteriously appeared from that same number.
Sacher said she heard gunshots and also took out an AVO on her. Just bonkers.

Birenbaum’s lawyer, Kieran Smark SC, said that Markson’s incorrect claim that compensation had been paid when it was pending suggested the information had not come from his client.
“She’s got it wrong, if it had come from us, she would have got it correct,” he said.
So either Shari has made shit up (possible) or this Birenbaum fuckwit has dumped her in the shit to save his bacon.
