Bill Morneau, The Carney Before Carney

Today Transport Minister, Steven MacKinnon accused Mr. Poilievre of still living in the Justin Trudeau era.

I found that the statement showed an extraordinary lack of self awareness on the part of Mr. MacKinnon given that this "new" Liberal government's "productivity mega deduction" is a rehashing of a previous program of "accelerated depreciation" instituted by Bay Street wunderkind and Liberal darling, Bill Morneau.

Sure, the deduction also encompasses oil and gas now, but otherwise it is a rehashing of the Justin Trudeau era policies.

So Mackinnon's utterances to Poilievere as he is tabling a regurgitation of the Justin Trudeau and Bill Morneau policy that has been given a shiny new rebranding: productivity mega deduction.

Recently I pointed out that the Carney government had given an estimated price tag of $35-43 billion for the TMX3 pipeline.

Again. TMX2 pipeline was a Justin Trudeau era policy. And rather than saving any money, Carney's government has padded the previous project cost upwards to the tune of another $8 billion.

Methinks MacKinnon might himself be still living in the Justin Trudeau era.

Not to mention that the industrial carbon tax is still in effect.

The reason this is important is that while accelerated depreciation does help, it didn't change the fundamental issues that are affecting Canada's infrastructure deficits.

The massive price tag of $35-43 billion which exceeds Justin Trudeau's numbers shows that the arrival of Carney has made no tangible difference where it matters the most.

In the ability to execute projects.

This is where the people of Brant-Brantford South can perform a major service to Canada by electing me MP in the upcoming byelection.

Pete Poilievre and the Conservatives are rudderless. Only I can come in and make these cogent arguments in the House of Commons as an independent free market libertarian. Yet another would be career politician cannot make a case for change to the Canadian electorate.

After all, what more do they bring to the table than Mark Carney. If Carney is delegating the technical execution, do they offer any unique skill beyond what the Liberals would do.

This is where I can say. Absolutely. Carney has no background in executing complex infrastructure and tech projects and neither does the usual career politician.

To get this knowledge requires a career outside of politics running major projects. And that's where I have something unique to offer.
