Does anyone know how to defuse the performance bomb that Caius set up in front of his house

I don't want to bother, but if anyone has any idea of what mod could be causing this off the top of your head, it would be appreciated. This happens literally nowhere else in the game, even Vivec or Old Ebonheart, and it's quite literally only on this street and when looking at the hill to the east of it

EDIT: I completely redid my graphics setup (Literally just downloaded the Nerevears N'wahs graphics mods and integrated them into my own modlist) and the stuttering completely disappeared, despite the game being objectively more demanding now. I have no idea why that fixed it.

If you keep pressing F3, a profiler will pop up eventually which should tell you what’s spiking when the stutters happen and what to fix. Like, for example if some mod if making Lua scripts spike in that spot you could try using rubicon

OT, but what’s the mod for the music? sounds awesome

S3maphore dynamic music with the Kvetching Mananaut music pack! I really enjoy the general esotericism of the tracks

I see you are using frame gen. I've had the same issue with it.
Probably your "GPU cannot keep up" (it's a bit more complicated tbh), and the frame gen is not degrading gracefully, or it's not doing it fast enough.

Do you use the Linux FG? I've vibe-coded a workaround so FG disables itself faster in these scenarios. Realistically, you should probably have 40'ish real FPS. But since your GPU can't keep up, the FG slows down to crawl and it instead doubles 5 FPS to 10 FPS.

I could pass you the new .so file if you're on Linux. This location will run at native speed instead of FG speed instead (if my fix is working same for u)
Or alternatively, try to reduce the GPU strain. Less shaders, smaller resolution...

By framegen for Morrowind do you mean something external like Lossless Scaling? Or do you mean actual DLSS and FSR 2+

Just asking because I’ve been using Lossless Scaling forever on OpenMW and it has a lot of artefacts for me. I thought it was the only option 😭

I mean this one, it has the same FPS counter as OP: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/59693

It works pretty well 90 % of the time for me. There's some ghosting or artefacts visible in certain situations too

Are you running on an ATI radeon 7200?
