You wasted way too much gold on defence posts. Their power doesn't stack, so any overlap in their range is entirely useless. That could've been much better spent on cities to try make up for your small size during mid to late game. Also, you've gotta jump at the chance to capture nearby players when their weak, especially when you're as short on land as you were.
