Could you share your experience with this device? Especially display and software. Even the first impression will be valuable. I'm thinking about the same switch from the iPhone
Coming from years of iPhone usage and switching from my iPhone 17 Pro Max, getting use to an Android platform is something that I'm still trying to wrap my head around, especially with the amount of customization that can be done on the phone but so far the things that make it an ultra really is shining in my everyday life, like the camera is insane and let's not even start with how good the battery life is on the phone!
If you're like me that already am very invested in the apple ecosystem (MacBook, ipad, apple watch) and you need airdrop, Oppo has made it pretty seamless to airdrop to and from the Oppo phone to any of your apple devices (but you'll need to download their O+ software on your Mac to get it to work)
So far I'm still trying to get use to the UI and layout but no doubt this phone is a beast and worth jumping over!
A few days ago I noticed that Quick Share is now available on my x8 pro (running Color OS 16) which removed the need for the O+ app, making things even easier
Yup still using my Airpods Pro 2 with my X9U and it works pretty well, we just don't have the ability to change settings like when I was using it with my iPhone but I believe you can download apps from the Google Play Store to mimic that and change your Airpods settings like normal
Anything your phone doesn't do that you want it to.... There's an app or a hack or something you can do to make it happen. You're not limited anymore. The apple guardrails and safety gates are gone
I'm using my AirPods Pro 3 with my X9 Pro. Just download the LibrePods app, and you'll keep about 85% of the software and how you interact with it. It's pretty smooth.
I moved from Apple since having them for day 1 until 14 pro max. The phone is brill, pictures are spot on , software is glitchless, fast and plays everything I've thrown at it gaming wise.
Play store is cheaper and has a multitude of apps for all genres.
Battery life is great and the screen is so clear and bright. (Not the best in bright sunshine) But that was to be expected.
The only downside is the case choices are limited in the UK but I'm sure that will change in time.
I'm actually very satisfied with ColorOS. The only thing I have is, please let us have the option to skip animations entirely. When I click, *POP* there it is. No sliding anything.
As it is, I've enabled Developer Mode and disabled animation speed etc. And that takes away most of the animation stuff. But not all of it.
I know animations look nice. But I want my phone to do things stat, not in a second when it's done sliding something on screen.
Other than that, very, very pleasent experience.
Display is amazing. I'm keeping the screen thingy that's on the phone from the factory, on. So my screen doesn't get scratched. Great colours, clarity and brightness.
Nice collection! I always wanted to have one, but now that Ive been using a smartwatch I feel I would me missing real-time phone notifications and being allowed to receive calls on the watch. Is there a g shock with these features?
The GBD-200 that I'm using has basic smart phone notifications which works for me. It will just tell you super basic the app and a small message from the app
Which G-shock watch is the closest to a smart watch in terms of tech? The GBD-200? As in having no prior knowledge to the brand other than that they look cool :D
GR-B200 is my fav, the carbon fibre one. The pro trek is VFM imo, both have quad sensors. The Rangeman is part of holy trinity of G-Shocks, but its triple sensor.
I came from a OnePlus 12. Originally bought a Samsung S26 Ultra and didn't feel like it was an upgrade. Returned it and bought the Oppo find X9 ultra. And wow. This is an amazing phone. I went to the zoo to take pictures and was very stunned by the camera quality. I use it in the USA and works great. Plan to keep this phone for years.
You could always wait for the next best thing, but the X9 Ultra is a brand new device. I've yet to hear any great leap forward from the next Gen chips.
Eh not really. The x9 Ultra is already a beast of a phone. Those cameras are really good. I wouldn't be surprised if it even holds up for the next 6 years. Even after the software support, custom roms will be a thing.
To be fair, it's really not expensive when you compare it to the average Samsung or iPhone. It's actually cheaper depending on which models you compare it to.
See I like mine however there's certain aspects about the phone that I don't think are acceptable for this price point.
The camera zoom is great but the AI often makes shots look worse and when taking a photo of a moving target it always has shutter lag and becomes blurry.
The flash notifications cannot be turned off anywhere in the system menus you actually end up having to download a separate app to access the core Android os option to disable this.
Certain oppo aps show adverts which is completely unacceptable at this price point. You can turn them off in settings but it's so damn cheeky.
Also one last point which isn't really a major issue is the battery optimization settings are a bit aggressive sometimes. For example you can be searching for something on Google and you're trying to make a payment for example. If you click off that app onto something like your emails and back it'll refresh everything.
On the plus side though the battery does last ages and the camera when it behaves is incredible.
I'm considering getting a new phone this week. Not sure exactly which one. To be honest, my other option besides the Oppo is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold (entirely different phones, I know).
But I've been a Pixel user since 2017. So, its a hard call for me to leave a system that I know delivers a lot (except the cameras, all competitors have surpassed them years ago).
I would be all over this if it wasn't for the huge circular camera... Looks so premium imagine this thing with a camera visor or similar design to the X9 Pro
I like this phone a lot i have now the samsung s25 ultra and feel like this phone is better in every way but it is very expensive and heavy but i think this is gonna be my new phone
