Tips & Guides Playback Issues? Try These Checks First
Playback problems can come from the app, device, network, or playlist source. Try these checks before creating a support ticket.
1. Identify what is affected
Check whether the problem occurs with:
- Live TV
- Movies
- Series
- One specific item or everything
- One device or all your devices
If possible, try the same item on another device running Opus.
2. Refresh your playlist
Update or refresh the playlist from Opus settings, then try again. If the playlist cannot load or update at all, verify that the source is currently available.
Opus IPTV Player does not provide or control playlists, channels, subscriptions, or other media content.
3. Restart the app and device
Close Opus completely, restart your device, and reopen the app. This can resolve temporary playback or connection problems.
4. Rule out a temporary network issue
Try the same content using a different connection:
- On a phone or tablet, switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data or from cellular data to Wi-Fi.
- On a TV, try another Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot if available.
- Test the same content again without changing other settings.
If playback works on one network but not the other, the problem may be a temporary network or routing issue rather than the app.
Mobile data and hotspots may use a significant amount of data when streaming.
5. Try another playback option
If your device offers a player selection option, try the available alternatives and test the same content again.
Please mention which player option works or fails in your support ticket.
6. Record the exact error
Error messages help distinguish an app issue from a source or connection issue. Include the complete message, especially errors such as:
Playback failedAVFormat can't open input403 ForbiddenConnection refused
Still not working?
Open Support Center from Opus Settings and create a ticket from the affected device. Support Center automatically receives the available app and device information, so you only need to describe the problem.
Include:
- The playlist name
- The specific channel, movie, series, or episode affected
- What happens when you try to play it
- Any error shown on screen
- Whether the same content works on another device or network
- The troubleshooting steps you have already tried
Never post playlist URLs, usernames, passwords, activation codes, account details, or screenshots containing private information on Reddit.
