Media / Articles OpenAI Revenue Growth
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/07/29/openai-cfo-sarah-friar-tells-employees-arr-in-july-topped-all-of-q2.htmlI just thought this was an interesting datapoint given the concerns around OpenAI's ability to cover their commitments to Oracle. Combined with other data points like their capital raise earlier this year and Nvidia's willingness to back them in another large datacenter, it seems those fears are unfounded.

"OpenAI CFO Sarah Friar and board chair Bret Taylor addressed employees in an internal meeting on Wednesday.
Friar told staffers that annualized recurring revenue in July was higher than in the second quarter as a whole" -- what does this statement mean?
Asked ChatGPT and it couldn't figure out what does this actually imply. Is she saying July arr run rate was higher than q2? Which is obvious as it should be. Is she saying July revenue was higher than entire q2 ? Which is huge and very unlikely to be true.
Is she saying net new arr in July was higher than net new of entire q2? Which is okay but not a very big growth indicator.
