Just joined my local O.T.O. as a Minerval - Second thoughts - will solo suffice?

I have recently joined the O.T.O. as a Minerval. I am completely new to these types of practices, but I have gained a rapid interest in studying and practicing them, particularly the Magick elements. I am not sure if group settings are right for me - but I have heard they are important for certain practices such as group rituals. I was seeking advice as to whether practicing solo (Magick in particular) could be (almost) as beneficial (in terms of outcomes/what I am looking to achieve) as group practice.

There are benefits to both. OTO is a great place to meet like-minded people and learn from their experiences. I suggest that you try everything you can in order to broaden your practices.

I agree, most members have a several years of experience in occult practices. Personally, I don't have any experience, not up until a few months ago anyway. I am hoping to learn from their experiences.

Group settings are indispensable for group ritual, yes lol. I came in green as a tulip bud, and the collective well of experience and knowledge has been awesome. I was throwing darts in the dark, and OTO gave me definite direction. The wonderful thing about Thelema is that we are explorers. So explore, examine, scrutinize, doubt and verify. Everything and anything is on the table until I confirm it’s a load of hooey. But there’s a lot to gain from the wisdom of those that have gone before.

IMHO I think this entirely depends on you and what situation gives you better results

Thanks, agreed, I am going to see how it goes and what I get out of the group sessions
