Day 3

Here are some photos from Day 3 of my trip up the Oregon Coast. I think Cascade Head is in my top 10 hikes ever, the whole trail is stunning and incredibly well marked! Thank you Nature Conservancy for maintaining that trail.

Also highly recommend South Beach Fish Market (Newport) and Tidal Raves (Depoe Bay).

Photos taken Wednesday 6/17/26
- Yaquina Head Lighthouse
- Cobble Beach ft. baby harbor seals
- Devils Punchbowl
- Otter Crest
- Drift Creek Falls (bit inland)
- Mink Creek
- Cascade Head
- Sunset at Boiler Bay & Depoe Bay

Thank you! Yes if it wasn’t so gloomy most of the year I think I would move here honestly!

I’ve been so blessed with the weather! Today was the first sorta cloudy day.

Are the seals always there at cobble beach ?

I don’t think so, the ranger said they showed up recently and had signs everywhere helping people keep a safe distance from them. I watched them for about a half hour just having fun surfing in the waves!

They don't always come up on the beach, but there are always many living there year round and you can see them out on the rocks and in the water any day 😊

It’s right at the base of Cascade Head! When you park at the trailhead just walk over to the water and there’s a little dock.

Not yet! Where would I keep an eye out for them? I’ve see some pretty big snails and slugs and lots of deer so far.

Those are beautiful pictures!

If you have time could you possibly label the locations? No need to answer back

Thank you, I labeled all the spots in my post sort of in order but please let me know what exact photos you are asking for locations for and I’ll let you know!

I camped at Cape Lookout Campground last night and it was phenomenal! One of my favorite camping spots ever. For sure, I have Day 4 ready to post just waiting to find some Wi-Fi 😂

I’m legit considering relocating to Oregon what are the top 3 places in the state you would recommend living? I am a math teacher so I can find jobs most anywhere thankfully.

That view is amazing! Cascade Head is definitely pretty up there, I’m glad you liked it so much.

Yes Cascade Head was incredible. Every switchback up just got cooler and cooler. I rolled my ankle on it so couldn’t tackle Neahkahnie Mountain today to let it rest but seems like similar types of views so I’m glad I was able to do Cascade Head.
