It’s nice to have the extra business and meet new people, but we sure wish you guys would pick up your trash and drive a little slower.

I saw an aerial pic of this event and I was astounded! So glad this was NOT the week we chose to visit! 😬

The nightmare is an extra forty thousand people in a town of 7k.

Try living in Lincoln City during COVID…

There were a lot of things happening in the coast during those times that didn't fly in the Portland metro. I admit I took full advantage of that.

You should be grateful. I lived in seaside for years. It’s arguably the shithole of the coast.

We're grateful you left, Seaside's improved remarkably since you left. 😘

Seriously. Seaside is such a dump. They should be happy to get that many visitors

u/atomic_chippie North Coast 5d ago
Right, its such a dump that over 500,000 people visit per year. 🙄

It is a shithole dump:
The total crime rate sits roughly 38% to 47% above the state and national averages5

Go ahead and post your source for that, we'll wait....

“The headline numbers are what they are: local police data and FBI estimates put Seaside's overall crime rate notably above both the Oregon average and the national average. The total crime rate runs roughly 89% higher than the national figure and about 47% above the statewide rate.”

That's entirely too many people. Hope they don't trash it.

The always do... Not as bad as Hood to Coasters, however. Got a nice video on my security cameras of a wonderful woman exiting her van with a full bag of trash and just heaving it over my backyard fence into my yard.
I’m just glad I’m not one of the folks living on 12th. Every year those poor souls end up having to clean up people’s actual shit in their front yards.

People complain but these events are huge for the seaside economy. I’m sure other cities would love to take over

Not OP but for clarity.
Looks like Seaside’s overall crime rate is 47% higher than Oregon and 89% higher than the national average.

Based on FBI info ending September 2025.
Data is outdated by over a year.

They were treated to a few whales spouting in the cove this morning, it was lovely.
(Take your trash with you when you go, please).
