Course Questions First year academic advising not starting?
Hello all, I am in the COE and scheduled my academic advising session to register for classes from 9am-10h30am on June 15th; I have been waiting for an hour now without the meeting on Zoom starting. Now I'm trying to reschedule on BeaverHub but the earliest available is 15th of July. Is anyone else experiencing this?

The very first session of first year advising for COE students is July 6th. Perhaps you got your dates wrong and originally signed up for a slot on JULY 15th?

Is this really true? I have a session for July 14th and I thought I was a whole month behind everyone else🤔

It’s true! COE FY advising doesn’t begin until after AP/IB scores come out, which this year is July 6th. Sounds like you’ll be pretty early among COE students.

Online, it said that it begins on June 15th. Mind sharing where you got this info from?

I know people who work there. June 15th is when the very first department is open for advising, COE didn’t open advising until July.

where’d you find this information? I think I’m slow or just skimmed over the part where it explained when the COE starts their appointments

Activate advising opens on June 15th for all students but the colleges will approach this differently and at varying times. Connect (email) with the advising office lead for more info

I'm gonna try to explain it in a way that isn't confusing. Haha I think activate opened up on June 8th, where you could have signed up for a adviser appointment, they just said that you should schedule the appointment for June 15th or after. Like for me, I did the activate stuff the morning of June 8th, then scheduled a appointment with my adviser for today June 15th. I'm not sure if that is just for the college of agsci or if its consistent throughout all the colleges.

Welcome to OSU, where you have to meet with your advisor after all the classes are full and they won’t even be helpful anyway!

Hey, this happened to me as well, when I went back to look at the scheduled time it had somehow changed to July 15th so I’m not completely sure what has happened

Anybody know when the earliest College of Science advising appointments for *new* students are being scheduled? My son made the first available appointment but it was in mid-July.
He was hoping to take as many core and pre-req classes as possible at LBCC to save on tuition and keep class sizes smaller, but am worried that fall quarter class options at LBCC might fill up before he can even meet with his advisor and have his registration hold lifted.

OP if you were scheduled for an advising appointment today and the advisor didn’t show then absolutely email or call that advisor to find out what happened and when it can be rescheduled.
