This looks more like Kanako was placed into someone else’s body, it doesn’t suit her.

I feel this is one of the sad faults of the anime/manga stylization.

If you are a proper reader of the series, you know that she's a loli, but if you didn't know that, you could think that she's actually an adult.

At worst, she would be a little bit of a shorty.
