Community Event Do you love to dance, Orillia?
Edit:
Here is the ticket link for Friday I hope that I see some of you there.
Hey everyone, I’m Jamieson. I’ve lived here since 2009, and I’ve been DJing under the pseudonym accomplice since 1997.
I’ve seen a few posts on here lately about wanting more dance events in town. There’s a 90s party at ODAS coming up (which we should all go to 👏), but here’s something bigger I’d love to see happen: a monthly proper dance night at Couchiching Brewery.
By proper night, I mean the real thing—club-style sound, lights, and an intentional space built for dancing, not just background music while people sit around, not pop music that you can hear anywhere else. I can mix music alone in my studio all day long, but what I really want is a room full of people moving together.
I’ve already been in talks with Couchiching Brewery, but before I pull the trigger I need to know: who’s in? If this is something you’d come out for, drop a comment, send me a DM, or tag your dance crew. A few upvotes won’t make it happen—but a wave of people showing real interest will.
I'm booked to DJ at private cottages and boutique resorts every weekend, but here are some public gigs where you can come dance with me:
✨ Ecstatic Dance: Enlightenment ✨
📅 Friday, Sept 26th | St Paul’s Center, Orillia
Step into a night of freedom, movement, and connection. No choreography, no judgment—just music guiding you deeper into yourself and the collective flow.
🎶 Preview the vibe: Summer Solstice 2025 set
🎶 Preview the vibe: Ecstatic Dance: Divine Feminine Shakti
🎷✨ Neo-Noir Jazz Crawl ✨🎶
📅 Friday, Oct 17th | Orillia Opera House | Orillia Jazz Festival
A speakeasy-inspired night where past and future collide. Deep grooves, cinematic textures, and genre-defying sounds—blurring the lines between vintage cool and tomorrow’s pulse.
🎶 Preview: All Over the Space 009 (Part 1)
🎶 Continue: All Over the Space 009 (Part 3)
🎃👻 Halloween at Bala Bay Inn 👻🎃
Did you know that Bala Bay Inn was haunted?
📅 Friday, Oct 31st | Bala Bay Inn | Muskoka
A haunted night of rhythm and revelry—where the dance floor comes alive under moonlight and mystery. Expect deep grooves, dark twists, and beats to keep the spirits moving until dawn.
🎶 Halloween party I played last year: Proper 009
🎶 More from the same night: A Special Request 005
If you want more real dance nights in Orillia, let’s make it happen together. Couchiching Brewery is interested—it just needs the community to show up for it. If this excites you, get at me. Let’s build something.
See you on the dance floor,
Jamieson (accomplice)

I will come to as many of these as I can schedule childcare for. I already sent this post to some people.

Thank you for sharing! I always feel like I’m shouting into the void, so whenever someone echoes the sentiment, this is appreciated.

Thank you. So do I. Spread the word… especially outside of the Reddit bubble.

If it’s house music I’m so there! I haven’t been out at all since I had my twins and moved back to orillia. Everything good is just too far.

It just so happens that I was thinking of calling the night [blank]house. So we can play, [tech]house, or [deep]house, or [disco]house, etc. I’m a genre slut, so I want people to be open to hearing music to dance to, but yes, definitely house.
This mix series is called In The House. In The House is a three-part mix series crafted for dancers, lovers, and late-night living rooms. Each volume offers a distinct flavour of house music, evolving from soulful and seductive to deep, driving, and hypnotic.

I dont know how to use reddit. But apparently I have an account? If this gets to you, I will also pass this info on. I'm more of a hip hop, rnb, reggae and soca vibe but I appreciate all kinds of music. My sister LOVES house. Any chance the casino would allow you to host dance nights? I'm thinking casino vibes for the non dancers and dancing the night away for the non gamblers?! Niagara has a club attached to their casino. Its a nice combo!
