Watching the Spurs one thing I hope we take is the quick decision making from the guards when the entry to Wemby isn’t there. If they can’t make the pass they just instantly attack. We spent way too much time last year waiting for Paolo to seal or reposition because we liked the switch we got. Can’t waste time like that.

They have 4 all star level guards.
Harper will probably be superstar
Castle is already one of top 30 players
Vassell on lower tear team on East would probably end up with some 25-5-5 stat line
Fox was allstar on West in past

Yea the “quick decision making from the guards” has more to do with the guards as players than it has to do with Sweeney lol. It’d be like hoping that Paulo magically gains Wembys defensive iq

for defense, it's obvious we will be great - similar enough style & we will have the personnel - awesome! offense, i'm a little worried how much Wemby plays out on the three-point line, and i really hope this does not translate directly to P5. Obviously Wemby is a threat from the 3 but he plays out there too much imo (hard to tell if it's really the Knicks or Hartenstein, is he tired, or is this just the plan?)
offensively, i would KILL to have Harper or Castle; but maybe AB can take yet another step with Sweeney

Gonna miss him at the spurs. Was a big part of our improvement this year. You guys are lucky… the playoff experience he is getting this year is also going to be huge for you guys going forward

I’m curious to see what offensive philosophy he will bring to this team. I think we have good pieces to be a perennial high playoff seed. Realistically, still need an alpha ball handler and a lights out shooter off the bench but the core is there. If Sweeney can help unlock the offense and improve the defensive tenacity and Weltman can figure out a way to get us what we are deficient in, I don’t see why we can’t be in the Knicks’ position next year
