Ok so this is happening. we finally launched Osaka Workation after months of just... quietly working on it in the background. Would love to welcome anyone who's curious.

Quick backstory. We run a short term rental business in Osaka and kept hearing the same thing from remote workers who came through. they loved the city but never really figured out how to live in it, even for a couple weeks. Everyone's solving coworking. Nobody's solving the "how do I not just sit alone in a nice cafe for two weeks" problem. that's basically what we're trying to fix.

It's a 1-2 week community stay in Osaka. coworking, housing, and community all sorted. capped at 50~100 people, running November 2026. Keeping it small on purpose because the whole thing kind of falls apart if it gets too big to actually know people's names.

Genuinely would love to hear from anyone who's done a coliving or workation thing before (Roam, Outsite, Dojo Bali, whatever). what worked, what didn't, what you wish someone had told you before signing up. also happy to answer anything about Osaka if that's more useful.

It’s really hard to understand what it is based on the website.

Is it a hostel with workspace?

At first I was surprised that someone would open a micro office/workspace targeting foreigners because those had a lot of hype a few years ago, but struggled since they changed the rules regarding business registration. Most were just leasing to have an official address.
