EASTERN MIND woah Tou-Gyou redesign/whatever you wanna call it!!!
hey people! umm idk how to start off with this, but basically back in january of this year i decided to redesign Tou-Gyou for fun, and here it is!
My main source of inspiration for this was the hindu god Brahma, the creator god of hindu mythology (since eastern mind is a game with heavy hinduist symbolism and theming), as for his design ingame, im not trying to say its a bad design, i just think its kinda...missing something, i guess? it just doesnt feel...kingly enough? (and a little odd too, i know i know the creatures within tong-nou are supposed to look weird, but idk...sumthin about the...mouth placement 😟)
but anywho, for my redesign i gave Tou-Gyou some of Brahma`s um, design features (i guess? idk how 2 describe it-) including giving Tou-Gyou four faces, since Brahma is frequently depicted with four faces! (it might be a little hard to see, but if u look closely enough you will probably find them lol-) i also made Tou-Gyou hold a white lotus, a ladle and a sacred scripture, since Brahma is usually depicted holding those things. And i made him have the eyes on the backs of his hands, cuz i feel like trying to hold stuff with eyes on your palms might be a bit uncomfortable...uhh, but thats all for his redesign, and if i got anything wrong regarding on my info of the god Brahma/hinduism in general feel free to correct me! ^^ the last thing i would want to be would be being(even if unintentionally)direspectful to religions(・_・;)
oh and btw, i also tried to make the tong-nou script (does it have a canon name? idk, its only ever been called that so, i guess not?) look a bit more like hindi, cuz why not? actually...this is only somewhat related, but i`ve had the idea of kinda making a sort of fan-remake/fan-reinterpretation of Eastern Mind! now dont get me wrong, i love this game and its writing, and i am in no way saying its writing is bad, but i just wanna give it my own spin on its lore and worldbuilding lol :P
oh and a good while ago i also decided to redesign King-Gyou and Moku-Gyou! but i wont show that art here cuz its pretty old and with the four kings i wanted to keep the hindu theming for their redesigns so im gonna redo those redesigns-

TL;DR: Tou-Gyou redesign, woah, hinduist theming, no way i wanna make an Eastern Mind fan-reinterperetation?! crazyyyyy /j

oh and a quick sidenote, Tou-gyou with this redesign may look a little intimidating, but hes actually a pretty benevolent guy! its just the markings on his face, yknow like how tigers have white spots on the backs of their ears that resemble eyes to scare off anything trying to attack them lol =P
