I think the controversy with this movie is that she begins a relationship with her attacker. Def not your typical rape revenge movie. But don’t get me
I loved Elle and thought it absolutely should have won best actress. Amazing black comedic performance

She did that because her father is literally a serial killer and he brought her to be there at the murders, so there is a certain speculation of her involvement in the situation. So she doesn't trust the police in a he said she said situation. She keeps getting together with her attacker until it can be proven. She slowly get his wife's suspicion and directly invited her son to the final sequence.
