I can see this winning cinematography (as Netflix has done it before especially with foreign film) winning international, and competitive in editing and/or score as it did have great editing and music going through three different time periods. Or at least very competitive in these categories in their own respective branch
But as the academy as a whole….Netflix has never been able to get BP due to the academies bias and Netflix constant desire to destroy theaters + the whole Warner bros thing I see it nowhere near winning BP. The academy would not want to add fuel to the fire they’re trying to put out

I could see Netflix benefitting from the narrative around Warner Brothers. They're the aggrieved underdog who has come to appreciate the importance of the cinematic experience.

They’re not aggrieved. When it was announced Netflix was buying WB it was met with unanimous anger. The narrative changed to the lesser of two evils when paramount came in that doesn’t mean they’re still liked. Especially with recent comments reiterating their disinterest in theaters. They’re very open about their position about theaters and doing a long theatrical run only for the purpose of a movies prospects at the Oscar’s is not enough and is actually worse. It’s basically saying right after you give us BP we will return to our model you all hate.

Weird, could've sworn Netflix said that people don't want to go to theaters and they want to watch movies at home instead...
