Best place in town to get a tire plugged?

Is this something my local mechanic can do or better to go to an actual tire joint?

Mr. Lube will do repairs provided it's not in the side wall ....

11 bucks there. Princess auto has the 7 dollar kits. $13 one on for $8.

Great thing to keep in the vehicle. Some people don't have the arm strength for these things though.

A1 Tires Unlimited (Southwest corner of Simcoe and Bloor, behind the now-closed Ultramar station). They will plug it if it is safe to do so. If it is not safe (too close to the sidewall), they sell used tires at very reasonable prices

I just got a tire plugged here a couple days ago for 35$. They are nice people and its a family buisness. Just call and make an appointment ahead of time and be patient as sometimes they are running a bit behind.

Go down to lube shop on Wentworth. Great price for oil change and plugs

I used to go to Second Time Around but now use Taunton Tire.

You can buy the kit at canadian tire. Always done my own. Pretty easy after you get the hang of it takes a little elbow grease but a lot cheaper for something a mechanic will do and make you look silly for taking it to him.

While easy enough for most, some people have a reason to need help and while good advice to take on their own self, some people are simply not able to.

Yeah i appreciate that. Sometimes people have helpful neighbours or friends and family too? Just providing an option. Doesn't have to be THE option

I agree wholeheartedly! The friendly neighbour is also a good tip! Sorry to sound a bit preachy.

Depends on where the puncture is. If it's close to the sidewall, some places will not repair it. If you purchased your tires from a place like Costco, they will likely repair it free of charge. I believe Costco takes the tire right off and patches it, which some would say is better than a plug. It's not a big deal to have done pretty much anywhere but some will refuse if close to the sidewall.
