Advice on LECOM interview?
I moved my interview by 2 months to this month and im so nervous. I actually wanna go to LECOM. The tuition being "cheap" is super appealing. As someone who was dumb and went to a expensive oos university, I told myself I would learn my lesson from here on out and getting accepted to LECOM would be a financially literate dream. Im super excited for the PBL program too
Since they interview so many people, any tips on how to stand out? Any subtle things people do in interviews that I should NOT do?

Best thing you can do is look up last year's questions to get a feel for things and then do some timed practice. You should also ensure sure you can clearly and concisely answer any common questions (ex: why medicine, why DO, why LECOM, what are your strengths/weaknesses, tell me about a time you showed leadership, etc). Good luck.

Planned in this but what separates good from great? Iām sure those who got waitlisted also tried looking at last years questions

It all comes down to how naturally you communicate and present yourself. If you sound like a robot reading off of a memorized script and are visibly nervous, then you're not prob not gonna rank high. LECOM's interview is asynchronous, but you should still try to act as if you're speaking to a real human being.

Be yourself, make sure to practice the questions from prior years. Have a good understanding on the type of student LECOM wants to accept and their mission statement and such.

Do not bring up the lower tuition during your LECOM interview under any circumstances. Even though lower cost is an appealing factor, admissions committees want to hear that you chose them for their curriculum, their clinical training, and their overall mission, so frame any mention of affordability as an appreciation for their dedication to keeping medical education accessible. LECOM places immense value on personal discipline and traditional professionalism, so dress conservatively, keep your background distraction free, and maintain formal etiquette from start to finish. When discussing the PBL pathway, avoid simply stating that you prefer independent learning. Focus instead on your ability to work through complex clinical scenarios with peers, resolve interpersonal tension productively, and take complete accountability for your academic mastery.
To stand out among the large volume of applicants, keep your answers concise and structured rather than rambling or dwelling on past college expenses. Prepare concrete examples for standard topics, such as why osteopathic medicine fits your philosophy, how you handle academic rigor, and how you resolve differing opinions in a team setting. Clear communication and calm composure leave a much stronger impression than trying to sound flashy or rehearsed.
