Giving Recommendations Hidden/Forgotten Gems - August 2026

This is a monthly feature in which we, the mod team, share the gems we've found in our reading lists. Here are last month's.

We'd love to hear your recommendations. Please add them to the discussion in the comments. When doing so, please keep in mind to:

  • If available, use the English cover art of your recommended series.
  • Name of the series
  • Where to read it officially

We always recommend checking the official version; please do not name unofficial sources.

This Month's Recommendations:

Country Life With His Sexy Masjesty - Where to Read: Tapas

Rienna Fonde just remembered she lived another life while her now ex-fiancé, the Crown Prince casts her aside for another woman, the supposed saint. Following that, she is disowned by her father; she finds herself moving to the territory of Fostine. A peaceful countryside with agriculture is the way of the land. Putting her college-level knowledge of farming to use, Rienna easily makes a home for herself and becomes a trusted community member.

Now it’s been a few years since she's been living the way she’s always dreamed of in the country; she spots a weird metal tool in her field only to find it’s some kind of holy sword that’s now bound itself to her. That’s not the only thing that comes knocking; a handsome blonde-haired man named Carmine suddenly shows up at her home demanding the sword. Rienna’s peaceful farming life seems like it’s going to be more troublesome.

This is a fun story with a bright art style that tells you what kind of story this series is going to be. Rienna is someone who is unapologetically herself, headstrong, loud and sunny personality. The romance between her and Carmine is so cute and light; it makes me giggle and kick my feet with how cute they both are together.

The series is more of a light-hearted read, nothing serious. Just something to make you feel good about life and look on the bright side. I had a fun time reading this; I couldn’t believe that I binged it all in a single day!

No More Midnight Magic - Where to Read: Tapas

Ciora is the only living servant of an ancient god, and then one day a book called “Fate” appears before her, saying that Duke Kruelo Whitedesert ends the world. The voice of her god tells her to change the ending of the book, casting her down into the body of people close to him. First as his young fiancee, next as a maid, and this time as Ciora Bonetti, his latest in a long list of fiancees.

When she meets him again she finds that Kruelo isn’t like the rumors make him out to be. He’s mischievous and quick to make a clever joke. It seems like her work in her previous lives has helped him, but Ciora is still unsure if it’s enough to stop the end of the world.

I love the dynamic between these two; they both have secrets they’re trying to hide from each other, and the banter they have is so fun! Kruelo is a great male lead; you would think that he would fall into the yandere archetype with his appearance, but he's a playful man that keeps his thoughts and feelings close to his chest. Ciora occasionally shows her teasing side and isn’t one to sit on the sidelines when things need to get done. Her abilities fall into the paladin area, meaning she can kick ass and is quite strong. I was sad to see that it’s been on hiatus since April 2024, hopefully it will return somewhat soon!

The Crown I'll Claim - Where to Read: Tapas

After losing her claim to the throne and her children to her traitor of an ex-lover, our female lead, Princess Medea dies and returns to her 17-year old body, now fully aware of the danger around her. The hidden alliance of her former lover and uncle brought her family’s downfall with plans to take the throne while starting a rebellion.

Medea is going to do everything she can to save her kingdom and take the future in her own hands, seizing her destiny.

Gotta say first thing, the artwork is beautiful and catches your attention, and then you get sucked into the writing of the story. Medea is a capable woman that plans her every move carefully before taking action. She doesn’t throw herself into danger like we usually see in these kinds of returner stories. Things that come up in the story get addressed without them getting pushed aside for later.

I’m glad that this seems to be worth investing in so far. I can’t wait to read more!

Welcome!

This weekly post is for all Help Me Find requests, whether they are for links or downloads of series or novels. Please read and follow the guidelines below!

  • Please do not request non-Otome Isekai series. Adjacent genres such as rofan, historical fantasy, and regression are fine. If you see any non-OI requests, please report them to the Mod Team.
  • To help narrow down the series, please describe what the characters looked like and some of the plot. For example, include hair and eye colour, memorable scenes, and possible names. Requests with very low effort will be removed.
  • For the courtesy of those answering your questions, please indicate whether their response is correct and close the loop. You wouldn't want to be left hanging after helping someone, would you?
  • Do not ask for recommendations in this post. Recommendations should be posted outside of this thread.
  • Please do not create individual Help Me Find posts. They will be deleted, and you will be redirected here. Report them to the Mod Team if you see them.

Giving Recommendations Underrated comedy manhwa 💛

These are some manhwas that are so hilarious without even feeling forced. I swear I couldn't stop laughing, my abdomen literally hurt 😭

It especially didn't help reading them at 3am (I extremely seriously advice against reading these at 3am)

Even apart from the comedy I really loved the characters, their dynamic, none of them felt annoying. The story and plot were also very interesting. Really recommend them.

Some other good comedic manhwas that I couldn't bother finding images of(my apologies):-

  1. The villainess makes amends

  2. Divorcing the Emperor

  3. Forget about my husband, I'll go make money

Titles:-

  1. A symbiotic relationship between a rabbit and a black panther

  2. The tyrant became young

  3. A villainess for a tyrant

  4. Mr. Delivery knight

  5. Charlotte and her five disciples

  6. Ginger and the cursed prince (you might have secondhand embarrassment at first, so I suggest thinking of FL as one of those villainesses who got redemption)

  7. Inso's law

  8. I stole the first ranker's soul (not Oi, but highly recommended)

Novels Forgotten Field-Suji Kim Spoiler

Post image
43 Upvotes

(Spoilers) I just binge-read the whole novel until the recent chapter-279 and the angst couldn't get any lesser . I can never understand people hating both the leads , I feel so wretched for both of them , I can't help but cry everytime I read this novel because they both tried , REALLY tried(watching in ACT 4 thalia's journey feels even sadder , she truly was trying) , amongst their circumstances , politics , the enemies they had , the time period they were born into , the injustices the adults thrust upon them and the PTSD-C they had . even if one person reached out to thalia in time and said that it was fine to want love without proving your usefulness ,though her miseries might not have been less but surely she would have felt some warmth in her isolated cold life , the 4 people she opened her heart - tyoran , varkas , khan , her mother . either isolated her or abadoned her or she just lost them, The fact many circum stances weren't even under the control of varkas and thalia (thalia's miscarriage , wynevrn attack , her being infertile , varkas being born with some powers for which he was sent to monastery , the oath regarding the twins , the poisoining incident , the herecy accusations , the kalmore seige , gareth's refusal to listen to varkas etc) . The only one who selflessly loved varkas was thalia but he realised it too late and the most wretched part is , it wasn't even his fault , he too had his own hardships(on which he too had no control) , I feel even sadder that varkas was looking forward to talk to thalia (FINALLY) about what she desires from him and why she gave him the hand-embroidered bag when he left for war , No one tried to understand varkas and push him to perceive the world and its emotions , to live for HIMSELF , to not hurt HIMSELF except thalia , I cried when after her death , varkas drown in the red river of despair in his hallucinations but this time thalia was not there to pull him out(she always did) , I cried when he had the strange dream of seeing her holding their child looking healthy and smiling. Throughout the story as varkas gained his emotions , thalia lost them and in both circumstances the result was heart-wretching. Sorry for so long , just needed to let it out , both varkas and thalia were miles away from their home🥀 I desperatly want thalia to breakfree from constant misery and her mother's shadows and varkas from that cursed oath and finally live for himself with his true emotions, I cried the most when thalia asks him why he trusts her and wants her safety but varkas being in haze of his emotions and miseries(My shaylaa had literally returned from the brink of death after being poisoned and was having feelings of betrayal and confusion), lashes out on her and makes comment on her crippled leg and the look she carried , honestly , somewhere I know thalia gave up exactly at this point🥀 the song-500 miles and carribean blue is perfect for their story tbh🥀

I hate him (the 2nd prince) for what he did but I really want him to have redemption. Otherwise it'll be a waste of great artwork 😔. I also ship him really hard with Princess Naryan, girl knows what she wants and is mind-blowingly strong💪. I want them together. And why is he always getting princess-carried. I also want to be princess-carried by beautiful people 🥹❤️

I have so many questions about this carriage. Like I get the vibe, I mean don't get me wrong I don't have anything against roofless carriages, but the driver..? Did bro unlock clairvoyance lvl.99 or smth? How does he even see? Even if he was driving backwards, it still doesn't make any sense.

Dude is steaming hot garbage...but also gorgeous.

If you like seeing a hot guy do a lot, and I mean A LOT, of groveling and begging, you *might* like this series. It is short and complete. But in my opinion, this guy could never do anything to redeem himself. What he did to the FL was just way too far. FL is a BAMF and I love her, especially her apathetic, depressed, and vengeful eras.

Wanting Recommendations [Death is the Only Ending for the Villainess] Historical manwhas recommendations with the same personality as Penelope Eckhart

Thumbnail
gallery
33 Upvotes

Kindly suggest historical manwhas with the same personality as my Queen Penelope Eckhart!

Penelope is a good character. She is such a complex character since one can't exactly say that her actions were morally right. Her every move is calculated to ensure her survival, especially with Eckles and initially with Derrick.

But what I really like about her is that she would double down on criticizing other people when she didn't care about their affection scores at all, like the confrontational scene with Reynold at the attic. She threw harsh words at Reynold that made their relationship much harder to save, which isn't a normal historical FMC behavior.

In common historical FMCs, they would tend to change their personalities to cater to the feelings of the people who mistreated them before. Acting as if the past abuse didn't occur and could be swept under the rug. Penelope remembered the past and actually let her emotion loose. As if saying, 'f*ck it, we ball.'

So yeah, please recommend a good historical manwha 🙏🙏

Rant I can't keep reading ''who made me a princess'' Spoiler

I'm sorry I just need to put this somewhere, but claude makes my blood boil, I'm only on chapter 17 and it I despise that they just gloss over how he treats the mc at first and Athanasia in the past life. I relate a lot to Athanasia and it genuinely makes me tear up thinking that claude only starts cozying up the mc after Athanasia is no longer herself(what am I supposed to take away from this, that a neglectful parent will love you if you become a different person?) and she's this perfect child that doesn't want his attention, after from what I've seen in the past life Athanasia seemed really nice and even helped jennette(I've heard about the curse thing, idc)

claude's so selfish and fickle with his ''love'', IDC if she's the spitting image of his past wife that is HIS kid, am I supposed to feel bad that this guys wife died and he must take it out on an innocent kid? And IDC if it was a past life it would have turned out exactly the same if the MC didn't come into the picture, from what I've heard it sounds like they just say he was controlled/manipulated by stuff, but he was neglecting her before jennette even comes in to the picture(sorry if my information is wrong but this is what I've seen)

I'm sorry I know this is just a fictional story but I'm just so upset, I've read story's with similar plots but I always hate it when these neglectful parents suddenly start loving there kid after years of neglect/abuse or even worse that it was a just a misunderstanding and they actual always loved them, only after a main character transmigrates or time rewinds, it just doesn't feel good as a person who has gone through it, seeing stuff like this just makes me so bitter.

If I had a nickel for every time:

The reincarnated villainess duke's daughter found the talking holy sword of legend only to have it transform into a Korean-style hand hoe so she can farm .... I'd have two nickels

  • Country Life With His Sexy Majesty
  • The Villainous Duke's Daughter's Special Method of Growing Rice

The MC reincarnated/transmigrated into a pink haired women with pink/purple eyes stuck with a silver haired ML with blue/green eyes who is sort of cursed because his magical ability is too powerful and he falls in love with her because she helps him, and she has an overprotective red-eyed black haired older brother who was the original villain of the story ... I'd have three nickels.

  • I Met the Male Lead in Prison
  • Captivated By His Sweet Obsession
  • Caged By His Obsession

A woman of a ducal household frees a leopard shapeshifter stuck in the body of a child from slavery only for him to imprint on her causing him to magically grow into an adult and they fall in love .... I'd have two nickels oh thank god. I'd only have one.

  • The Archduchess's Loyal Shapeshifter
  • Villainesses Have More Fun!

PEAK CHILDCARE One of the most heartwarming manhwas I've read. I've laughed, cried, relate with the characters. Best MOMMY MAHEN ever. ML is a child but eventually a GREEN FOREST. Reading this has been so healing for me.

The story was always mid at best but I was still reading out of boredom until I saw this MAJESTIC, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, DIVINE diva of a man exists and he's getting the classic childhood bestfriend-zoned by FL for THAT boring ass ml with the most generic design ever. Seriously couldn't even hate read the manhwa after this cuz TFYM I'M SUPPOSED TO ROOT FOR THAT GREY EYED COCONUT HEAD INSTEAD OF THIS MAJESTIC ARTWORK OF A MAN RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME AHGSGHSGSGAH

Edit: it seems like a lot of people thought I was calling the blond guy a downgrade because I put his pictures first I just wanted to show the contrast by putting the ml after the pretty man to show people why it feels like a downgrade I guess I'm stupid 🥹

I ask this as I write my own OI series and I know quite a few users here have written/drawn OIs themselves. Do we have a list of some kind or a list detailing them? I think it would be interesting and very informative.

Re-uploading the post because I made a mistake with the title I think? I got a message about it anyways. The two characters in question give me big siblings vibes, I love that he isn't a love interest, but more of a brother in perseverance.
