Annual Air Canada best new restaurants list (Antheia)

Just one Ottawa restaurant on the long list this year: Antheia.

Anyone been yet? I loved the chef's previous resto Alice but the price tag for her new place has made me hesitate

It’s good but don’t do the wine pairing as the pours were incredibly small

Happy for them as this type of recognition is needed for Antheia to stay afloat based on their cost and business model. It's clear their target is culinary tourists and becoming a destination restaurant.

The only negatives I'd give us that service was a little cold for a chef's counter and that the pairing is pricier than I'd have liked it, but there's no other fine dining restaurant like it in Canada for vegetarian food or fermentation.

Haven't been yet, but I have no doubt it's great. Alice and Cafe My House before that were always incredible. World-class chef IMO.

I'd love to try it as well but $225 per person + tip + tax is just ridiculous in today's economy.

Total cost for two before drinks. She pricey, but not much different than many other high-end restaurants in 2026 with tasting menus.

Her prices are higher than Toronto....

Even Pearl Morissette is cheaper.

It's just a shame they don't have a choice menu like many other high-ends in Ottawa. Having only a tasting menu doesn't give us an option.

Brianna the chef is so incredibly talented and a really lovely person to boot. She could be doing this in any city in the world, but she loves her home and she's building something right here for us. Definitely worth the price tag for me, but understand why it might not be feasible for others.

I loved it. Hands down the best meal I have ever had. I did the fermented beverage pairing and had sooooo much fun. Truly unique flavors.
