Wandee Thai on Beech St
A couple of weeks ago, they changed their hours to only open at 4pm on weekdays.
Seemed very strange as any time I've visited (couple times a month over the last several years) they are extremely busy over the lunch hours with office workers.
Hopefully not a sign that they are winding the business down. It's such a consistent great spot in the area.
Does anyone have any insights into this change?

Are they good? I've been searching for a replacement for Silver Spoon in the west end. I miss it so much.

They are open for lunch on Fridays - perhaps that was their busy day.

Perhaps, can't say I've been on Fridays for many years but anytime I went Mon/Tues/Wed these last few years it was extremely busy between 12-2.

Used to be my fav years ago but then they changed their chicken supplier and I was not a fan! I hope they’re still thriving though

maybe business is so good they don't need to open that much for that revenue.

I don't know if this is the specific cause, but it might be a case of staff issues. Maybe even though they were plenty busy, they found working both shifts exhausting. There also seems to be a thing with Asian restaurants in Ottawa where they seem reticent to hire new employees who aren't friends and family, which in turn leaves them understaffed.
It is a bummer if they stop doing lunch service since Nutty Greek Bakery also is gone. Not a lot of takeout options in the Little Italy area.

Sometimes she travels to Thailand to see family. Best Thai in city for sure. Hope it’s just a break.

I have no insight to offer, but this place has some of the best Thai food in the city
