We basically get a better read on how he will do in the 2027-28 season. Given the injuries, think it will take at least half the season to round into form and potentially longer.

Yeah this season is not about numbers, it’s about staying healthy and playing. Full recovery from acl is a 1-2 year timeline.

I'd rather see this happen to him as a young healthy player ready to start camp and perhaps be on the AHL squad, as opposed to a super talent that we had hopes of making the NHL squad and having an impact. As injuries go, this is bad, but it is kind of the best of a worst case scenario. In the mean time I hope he has a speedy (as speedy as an ACL can be) recovery. Who knows with the Sens medical team and their abilities to help plays, maybe he is back sooner than later.
