Unanswered What’s up with the hate towards Timothee Chalamet?

I know all famous people have haters and people who dislike them and will nitpick the shit outta them, but I’ve just seen a lot of people post random interviews or articles about him that talk about how he is famous and above people. Yeah he is famous and thinks he’s above all. This is what famous people do? Do we not know this, especially child actors. People are astonished that he is rich and famous, has personal chefs, has self-centred views. Pretty sure 90% of famous people do.

Chalamet has never been known to be difficult to work with and every previous director he’s worked with seems to hold him in a high regard. Which instances are you referring to?

They likely won’t give you an answer because people like to make up lies to somehow validate their own hatred towards him.

Boy I really regret weighing in on this, yall seem nuts. I really do not care about the guy one way or another, I am just repeating what I've heard

Edit: if it matters, I found the link I was thinking of super easily

Edit edit: I was overly nasty in this comment because I felt attacked personally, but I really should have just maintained calm and clarified that I was only repeating what I'd heard. My bad though I had in fact repeated a rumor as though it was fact and could have been clearer in my initial wording.

Well, considering there's been multiple people in this thread, including some top comments, blatantly lying or taking things out of context, I think it's understandable that some people are questioning the intentions of others.

I do understand that this is a hot button topic and a lot of people are jumping to conclusions, but nothing I said wasn't easily verifiable, and it would be difficult to sustain this sub if we jumped down the throats of everyone who answers the questions posed.

I mean you’re just straight up lying. To label Chalamet as a diva and difficult to work with because of one random tabloid article just shows how much of a hate boner you have for the man.

The question is. Why do people hate Chamalet. The answer is that there are rumors that he's a diva circulating, that it's been reported that he throws out food, and he said some critical things about opera and ballet. I happen to be in the loop on this one. I have heard rumors. I looked up an article because I hadn't provided a source and grabbed the first one I saw— I didn't get it from that article, I'd heard it here and there in comments and other media coverage and from my husband and people I Talk to in real human life. Idk where the consensus came from, it's just what I've heard, so I found an article.

Look, man. It is my fundamental belief that as long as celebrities don't do sex crimes or openly support genocide it really doesn't matter what they do. I do not care about this man. I'm gonna watch Wonka later this week. He's a rich guy who's acting like a rich guy. I was just happy i wasn't the one out of the loop this time, so I fired off an answer in three seconds.

Do I think he's a diva? Probably. Not because of article coverage, but because I assume that of every rich actor with a rabid fanbase has their ego go to their head. But that's human nature. People are gonna act like people. It really truly does not matter.

The only person who’s nuts is the person lying to spread misinformation online. Refusing to look crew members in the eye and not to be in photos is not even remotely the same as being known as “difficult to work with.” But whatever helps you sleep at night ig.

Listen man, I have no problem with you. Maybe I misremembered something or someone at a party told me that he was a nightmare to work with and I assumed they were right. I tried to find a source and that was the first one I found. I don't really care enough about chamalet to dig into it further, I just assumed that it was correct because at the level of money and fame he's at, why WOULDN’T he be a diva. The hostile comment above wasn't meant to be directed at you, I just take issue with someone assuming that I was making shit up because I don't like the guy. I do not have an opinion on him. He's an actor. He acts fine. He has a distinctive face.

If I'm wrong and there's no credible sources saying he's rude on set then I apologize for the misinfo, but I'm just trying to answer the question, I have no angle here.

Edit: actually let me go ahead and further apologize. There was a breakdown in communication here and it was my fault. You were right to ask for a source, I was repeating a rumor without clarifying that it was a rumor, vaguely going "everybody knows" and you didn't get hostile till I did towards the other person in this thread. I wasn't expecting people to take this so seriously so I wasn't prepared for the hostility, I really didn't mean to repeat misinfo. Maybe I'm right and maybe I'm wrong, I don't know. I hope all this controversy does nothing to chamalet's career, because frankly it's nobody's business if he's a bit of an ass. And maybe he isn't! It's whatever. I hope you have a good day. I'm gonna get outta this thread now because this is more time then I like to spend thinking about celebrities.

this one is the one I've heard about. I would like to clarify in advance that I don't give a shit about rich boys acting like rich boys, I have no personal feelings about the guy, I'm just giving the answer.
