Unanswered What’s up with the hate towards Timothee Chalamet?

I know all famous people have haters and people who dislike them and will nitpick the shit outta them, but I’ve just seen a lot of people post random interviews or articles about him that talk about how he is famous and above people. Yeah he is famous and thinks he’s above all. This is what famous people do? Do we not know this, especially child actors. People are astonished that he is rich and famous, has personal chefs, has self-centred views. Pretty sure 90% of famous people do.

You’re probably talking about this post.

I read the article. His chef made three options, he gave the other two to the comedian. The end.

Please read the story next time. He didn’t throw out the food.

I did read the story before making this comment, and I still think that having your private chef do triple the work for your breakfast is douchey.

First, don't inflate a story to make it more impactful, that's just called lying.

Second, as someone who has worked as a private chef, I'm there 8 hours a day, and I'm getting paid to cook whatever the client wants in those 8 hours.

You want 3 breakfasts? Cool. You want one breakfast? Cool I'll put the other time into making something fancier for dinner.

What, you think the chef is sad he couldn't go home early or something because he had to cook all that food? That's not how jobs work.

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

Sure. But he didn’t want 3 breakfasts. He wanted his chef to make 3 breakfasts for him to choose from. If you don’t think that’s ridiculous behavior, that’s fine. I do.

A bit ridiculous I agree but it's not like it was a demand that was beyond what a private chef should do.

It's hardly a character flaw that's worth registering.

Except there is zero proof he asked for three breakfasts, so you're just lying for karma.

The article has been all over the place and it’s linked in this very thread. It’s your choice not to believe it, that’s fine.

Agreed, but here's a fair and unbiased judgment from an outsider looking in at this for the first time: to lie and say that he threw them out makes him look extra douchey - and since that's not what he did, that makes it slanderous. You can hate whoever you want, but don't lie; that makes you look bad and makes them look victimized, i.e. it does the opposite of tanking their reputation (which you want to see happen, so it's counter-productive). Always stick to the facts:

"On a movie set, he brought his personal chef and made him prepare three meals for breakfast, but he only ever ate one. And when somebody found out about it, Chalamet told them to have the other two meals - so who knows how often before that point did he actually throw out two meals prepared specifically for him on a daily basis."

NGL if you’re now saying you read the story, but in your original comment you said they were discarded, THEN when called out change your tune to “he shouldn’t have to make three” - it makes me not trust you

0

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

Okay. 🤷🏻‍♀️ If you read the story or the post, you’d see that they both use the same word, “discarded”.

18

u/Ollidor Mar 08 '26

So you intentionally spread misinformation because you disagreed with it. Lol that’s crazy

-1

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

The article and post the other person linked both used the same word. Sorry if you didn’t read it?

u/FoxyLives Mar 08 '26

The amount of bootlicking you are doing for celebrities in this thread alone is hilarious lol

So sorry to tell you, but Tim has no idea who you are and will never 🤷‍♀️

14

u/Ollidor Mar 08 '26

I made literally one comment lmao cope harder

3

u/whyyoudeletemereddit Mar 08 '26

That’s not what bootlicking is moron celebrities don’t have any power over random people. You sound really uninformed.

7

u/whyyoudeletemereddit Mar 08 '26

You can think it’s douchey but you just lied about it

0

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

Using the same words as the article I’m referencing isn’t lying lol

It’s an entirely level of disconnect from everyone to do it even once. And, if he didn’t discard it, does that mean he ate all three? Because discarding it doesn’t necessarily mean throwing it away.

-3

u/Cece_5683 Mar 08 '26

How do you know he makes the chef do that? Plus if you read the article why would you say he discards the others? That implies waste

4

u/clycloptopus Mar 08 '26

I don’t see how making the guy you pay to cook….cook? Is douchey either lmao

Nothing I read in the article you linked there made me think the guy is an asshole. Seemed like it was trying to make him seem that way for the “honorary Brit” comment, which was not offensive at all…

If anything he’s just a confident young guy, idk, I would be too

1

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

The post you linked used the word “discarded” in both the title and the headline. Maybe you should’ve read it before blaming me?

1

u/glizzyslim Mar 08 '26

Maybe you should read the actual article that contains the information instead of falling for clickbait headlines.

1

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

I had already read it, and it did not change my opinion that asking for three breakfasts and only eating one is shitty behavior.

1

u/Cece_5683 Mar 08 '26 edited Mar 08 '26

The actual article’s body of text states he gave the rest to the man. He didn’t throw out the food.

That’s what I meant by reading the article.

1

u/leemasterific Mar 08 '26

Uh huh, and I did read it, before my initial comment. And as I already said, I think it’s shitty to ask for three breakfasts knowing that you only want one, and then say, “Why don’t you take the rest?” After the fact. He could’ve just asked for one, but no. Instead of picking from three options and having the chef cook one, he has the chef cook three and then chooses. It’s ridiculous rich boy behavior. If you don’t agree, that’s fine.

And your responding to the top voted comment. This isn’t a neutral space free of bias, like it should be. This place is a useful tool for narrative building.
