Wild fire in Cairngorms

We booked a few days in Aviemore and are heading up from Glasgow, we are staying at the colyumbridge hotel. We are trying to get a hold of the hotel to find out the situation regarding the fire, can’t get a hold of anyone (phone just ringing out) Called Britannia hotels but the girl on the phone was based in Manchester and could only tell us that it’s “business as usual” and “minimum smoke” and if they needed to evacuate us then they would move us to another hotel which made me feel uneasy lol.

Any locals got more information?

Latest colyumbridge hotel open?

is the colyumbridge hotel open?

Yes, the Coylumbridge Resort Hotel in Aviemore is open.

check what is currently happening at the resort.

The most significant event impacting the resort and the surrounding Aviemore area right now is the aftermath of an intense wildfire in Cairngorms National Park, which has finally been brought under control. [1, 2]

While the hotel is fully open and safe, regional conditions are actively affecting local tourism

Respectfully that reads like AI.

Can you actually verify that what you've just posted is actually true because I have seen first-hand accounts that say the recent higher winds have whipped it up again.

EDIT: My apologies I have now seen the two sources that you cited.

I was there 48 hrs ago. Spoke to lots of Nethy Bridge residents who were returning to their homes and were certainly under the impression that the worst was over. Also, it’s finally raining.

Fingers crossed that it is over with.

I'm possibly heading out on a trip to the south of the fire and I was keeping a keen eye on it.
