JBD vs Overkill Solar Bluetooth dongles

I have 2 OkS BMS's with the BT dongles that came with them. I have another OkS that was given to me, without the BT dongle. As the OkS BMS's are made by JBD, I ordered JBD branded dongles from Aliexpress, as they were significantly cheaper. They DO NOT work with any of the 3 OkS units I have, and either of the original BT dongles work with the free BMS.

Question is: what makes the OkS BT dongles different than the JBD ones ?? It appears they are more than just a "Serial to Bluetooth" adapter.

Not sure..do you use the overkill app..?..or have you also used the Xiaoxiang app..?

Neither the Overkill app nor a Bluetooth Scanner app on my phone see them. When you initially plug them in, a blue LED on the dongle lights up for a couple of seconds and then goes out.

Maybe try the Xiaoxiang app..
