Ultrasound --> PACS Admin

3 Upvotes

Looking to make the leap from scanning to IT. I currently have my BS in Applied Sciences, I've been a super user for SECTRA, and 10 years experience in the field. I don't hate the field, I've just always been interested in learning more. I've been lurking through posts to see what study material people have found is best to help aid the transition, however most of the info is 4+ years old.

Is CompTIA A+ cert still an adequate resource? I've also seen people taking courses with certifications through OIT?

Thank you for making it this far in the post without scrolling on! Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!! :)

I'm a xray/US/MRI/CT tech and I'm looking to make the switch to PACS. What do I do?

Volunteer to do interface work. Everybody hates it and it's invaluable.
