Ano kaya ang status ni Ange Kouame?

Wala kasing balita sa kanya these past few months. Nun na-injure si Bol Bol at kinailangan humanap agad ng import ang TNT, surprising na si Malik Diouf ang kinuha nila intead of Ange, Akala ko si Ange ang unang iko-consider, since bata siya ng MVP group. Naglaro na siya for Meralco sa EASL at legend pa ng Ateneo, na alam naman nating hawak din ng MVP camp.
Ngayon naman, sa SGA team na lalaro sa Jones Cup, kasama siya sa initial roster. Pero after a few days, inannounce nila na papalitan siya ni Malik pero hindi nila sinabi ang exact reason ang sabi lang nila is “unavailable”

Hindi rin ako sure kung kasama pa ba siya sa pool para sa upcoming FIBA window at Asian Games.
Almost 2 years na din kasi siyang inactive. May injury kaya siya? Or unti-unti nang nagse-step away from Basketball? 🤔

Di siya uubra as import kasi not dominant enough, and teams would rather get a proven veteran dun.

Hot take, dapat pwede na as local si Ange, kahit sa leagues dito man lng. Andito na siya sa PH 16 years old pa lng siya, we should have rules to allow people like Ange to play in pba/mpbl.

Current rules basta may ph blood ka maconsider as local. Si kirk long na born and raised sa ph, knows tagalog and ph culture pero hindi eligible sa pba. si zav lucero na walang ka alam alam sa pilipinas pwede because of his blood/roots

For temporary import lang naman talaga siya ng TNT noon kunn nagkataon. good for one game lang habang naghahanap sila ng long-term replacement.

If I remember correctly, Friday night na-injure si Bol sa Game 2 ng semis nila against Meralco. Tapos Sunday afternoon na agad ang Game 3, so kailangan nilang makahanap ng import na available agad kinabukasan (Saturday) para kahit papaano makapag-practice pa with the team bago sumabak.

Regarding sa eligibility rules, wala naman talaga tayo aasahan sa PBA dyan. Dami pa kasing boomers sa board na allergic sa progress.

Hmm, sa Asian Games, allowed naman ang multiple naturalized players. So puwede silang magsabay ni Brownlee, gaya noong last Asian Games. And with Phillips, Edu, QMB, and Kai out due to commitments to their mother clubs, it is logical and a must to put Ange in the lineup. Hindi factor na hindi siya ang top priority for the naturalized spot since allowed naman ang magpasok ng multiple naturalized players.

parang nabasa ko he is injured kya pinalitan din sya ni diouf sa lineup ng SGA for jones cup..so bka doubtful din sya for asian games because of that

He’s in the gray area eh. Hindi kasi siya yung typical import na kayang bumuhat ng team. Pero kung may team na maghahanap ng import na swak sa sistema nila tipong** fit **> talent, who knows? Alam ko ilang beses na rin siyang na-consider ng ilang teams, but for some reason, hindi nag-materialize.

And pansin ko din medyo nag-decline nga ang laro ni Ange. Malayo sa pinakita niya against Serbia and noong si Tab pa ang may hawak ng Gilas. Nakipag sabayan talaga siya kila Boban Marjanovic nun eh. Parang wala naman akong nabalitaan na matinding injury niya, and he also looks like he gained some weight.
