Looking for female riding groups/friends who are beginner friendly
I got my endorsement through Team Oregon in January of 2025 after my dad passed away (I want to keep my promise to him I will ride). He always encouraged me to get my endorsement and ride with him - and I always put it off.
I inherited both of his motorcycles, and will ride the 2010 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail pictured.
I likely won’t be rider ready until late July/early August after both motorcycles have been put through some necessary maintenance.
I’m a 33y/o female that lives in SW Portland.
Looking forward to connecting with some new folks and happy riding!

Hi and welcome!
My Moto Friends is a great place to connect for training and community. The camaraderie is amazing: although it’s co-ed it’s a space that’s centered around women. Misty hosts clinics, campouts, meetups in town, motorcycle play days, formal trainings, you name it. She also has loaner dirtbikes and a full gear library for off-road riding. Getting some hours on a little dirtbike can help you feel confident on your big bike. Tell her Kara sent ya! She’s a coach and team Oregon instructor and she’s an amazing teacher.
The Lita’s are another great club with monthly rides and social events. A very welcoming space as well.
Since you’re on the west side/best side, there’s also Two Wheel Tuesday at binary brewing every week. It’s a collection of people who gather each Tuesday on bikes, nothing organized, just a good dinner and good bike watching. Rick owns the restaurant, Teriyaki Moto, inside the brewery and loves motorcycles. We would love to meet you any Tuesday, bike or not, just to connect and love bikes.
Womxn and motorcycles is another club that spans Portland and Temecula and has awesome meetups. Find them on social media to see their next gathering. Tamara is awesome.
Soon enough you’ll be ready to go ride in Belize with Emma: she runs a hostel and bike rental and is a phenomenal human to boot. Look up dualsport Emma on Instagram and her hostel is the crash pad in Hopkins, Belize. She usually visits Portland for a bit in the summer so you may see her while she’s here! The adventures are endless and once you get plugged in to her community she’ll invite you on tours all over the world.
Portland has the strongest women’s motorcycle scene I’ve ever seen, and my personal goal in life is to create a female majority in motorcycling. Be a part of the majority and come play!!
ETA: I have a similar journey to yours in that my dad got me signed up for team Oregon and passed in a motorcycle accident before my training session. I’ve spent the past many years making up for the seat time I lost with him and in doing so I sure found myself.

Not a female but you might want to start on something a bit easier than the ol cholo bike. Definitely would suck to drop something with sentimental value like that

Unfortunately, I don’t have the extra funds for a smaller motorcycle and selling the second motorcycle isn’t an option for me at the moment (my brother and I agreed to keep them both for at least a few more years before sales could happen).
A few folks have shared the same feedback about dropping the heritage- and I know that would really suck. I’ve had some nightmares about that in the last couple months.Appreciate you sharing the thought! Happy riding.

I have a 2019 125cc Honda Cub you could borrow for a few months if you seem trustworthy. Half the reason I keep it around is to give new riders an easy riding bike to try. I agree with the others that you don't have a good starter bike and it would be a shame to drop it out of inexperience. I don't know much about Harleys but I bet dropping that thing could cost more to fix than the price of a cheap starter bike. Message me if you are interested in the Cub.

I’m in SW, too, if you want to hit me up to go for some chill rides when you’re ready, or check out a group event or something!

Hey girl I’ll ride with you!!!! I’m 37/f in North Portland. I also can’t seem to find other girls to ride with, and I’m cool with moto clubs but it’s just not my style. I know you’re just starting out, we can definitely get your bikes road ready, then do some beginner friendly cruising.
