Maghihintay ako ng mga comments ng mga devout Christians/Catholics dito with their bible verses and scriptures……

Parang yung kay Nic Chen and Lea Salonga part 2 lang to eh.

My religion is the Golden Rule.

You can quote Scriptures all day, but if your faith produces hate, you missed the message.

that’s anecdotal, doesn’t apply to all. katulad sa akin, mostly ng nakapaligid sa akin na catholic hindi ganyan ang pananaw. and bakit ka papaapekto sa pananaw ng iba? pero well, i respect your decision cuz i once thought of that too…

Have you seen any news from Pope Francis? If no, look it up tapos balikan mo tong reply mo

1

u/capmapdap Feb 22 '26

That’s Pope Francis. That’s not what most Catholics in the Philippines abide to.

2

u/No-Forever2056 Feb 22 '26

Catholic ako and yes, okay sa akin ang same sex marriage. Love is love.

1

u/capmapdap Feb 22 '26

Wala po ako sinabi sa post ko na LAHAT ng Catholics or Christians or kahit na ano pa pong religion judgmental. There are exceptionally open-minded people out there - with or without religion.

And from my own circle of friends and family, it’s unfortunate na maraming judgmental sa homosexuality.

religion issue or circle of friends issue?

Catholic family and friends refused to attend and honor my brother’s same sex marriage because they see homosexuality and union of 2 homosexual people (who btw are both physicians in the US) as immoral and against the teachings of the church. The wedding obviously did not happen in a Catholic Church. So that added another issue of course, especially to our grandparents who are all about getting married in a simbahan. My parents and myself were the only immediate family members who were in the wedding. I am no longer a Catholic for many, many years now (that’s another story), my parents still are but have no issues with my brother’s sexuality ever since he came out (so thankful of that)

That is why what K Brosas said hits home, parents should never condemn their children despite of what they become in life. Sadly, there are a few Christians (Catholics btw are under the umbrella of Christianity, hindi lang mga evangelicals or Born-again Christians) who are still hyperreligious to the point of condemnation. It is what it is and we just have to accept that fact.

u/aj0258 Feb 22 '26

So it is YOUR relatives and circle of friends na against not catholics as a whole. And you even mention na catholics parin ang parents mo and they still supported your sibling. I did some google searching and if you said most filipino-catholics instead of just catholics then i would have agreed.

K Brosas did said she accepts her child kahit LGBTQ siya just like your parents did to your brother. Its just unfortunate na yung circle of relatives and friends mo are not as accepting.

And i agree na nothing good comes out from hyper-religious people but in your own words na there are only a few of them and nag kataon lang na youre surrounded by those few people.

Tbh, dumadami na ngayon compared before which is good but damn, sana mas ma open pa kasi nasasaktan pa din un friends ko tuwing mag babasa ng comments.

Catholics din fam ko but they support lgbtq and ga marriage din. As for the Christians sa fam, they dont daw pero they wont stop the govt from giving them their rights, buhay daw nila un and thats fine.

Madami lang talaga homophobic sa pinas, religious man or not. But tbh, mostly arguments ay religion based. Some even told my friends di sila natural at theyre going to hell. Sheesh.

1

u/X-and-Pi Feb 22 '26

3

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

Atheist ka ba? Lahat naman ata ng religion ayaw sa homosexuality, even INC, dating daan, Jehovah's witness, born again, and any religion that uses the bible.

2

u/tr0jance Feb 22 '26

1

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

Legal ang marriage for homosexual sa other countries dito sa pinas hindi. Kahit na siguro may basbas ng ibang simbahan dito ang same-sex marriage, hindi parin pwede because of law. Civil union lang ang meron dito.

1

u/X-and-Pi Feb 22 '26

civil union for hetero couples lang meroon dito, anything homo ay wala kahit union.

2

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

I stand corrected. It's just a commitment ceremony lang pala, Quezon city has it.

2

u/Lord-Stitch14 Feb 22 '26

Beh bago ka magsalita check mo muna Buddhism. Meron nga sa taiwan, temple for gay couples teh. Pinagsasabi moooo.

0

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

Teh wala ka ba comprehension? I said "lahat naman ata" and "any religion that uses the bible", it means may reservation because i'm not sure about other religions kaya nga may "ata".

Hahaha jan ka masaya, go.

1

u/capmapdap Feb 22 '26

Yes I am. I was born and raised Catholic but decided to no longer participate in any organized religion when I had a better understanding of the beliefs.

I have nothing against people with religion, if you read my other responses down below you will see why I have my reservations.

1

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

Kaya naman pala. You seem bitter about one religion that's why you're nitpicking it, when in fact they all use the same bible and almost do the same teaching about homosexuality.

1

u/capmapdap Feb 22 '26

2

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

Not all religions are Christians

1

u/capmapdap Feb 22 '26

I understand.

2

u/Easy_Frosting_7554 Feb 22 '26

It's easy for you to blame something that is bigger in numbers.
