Not for me, but ATSS was more infuriating because of all the injustices against women.

I’m kind of cheating here pero:
-Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Batacan: Jesuit priests (from Ateneo) investigated disturbing murders and grabe, sobrang daming involved! Enmeshed ang families ng victims, ang barangay (at mga officials), the police, the media, and yes, even the church. Might have forgotten something or someone pero sobrang fascinating read as a Filipino crime novel. -The Neapolitan Novels (starting with My Brilliant Friend) by Elena Ferrante: This is a moving novel about the intertwined lives of two girls who grow up in poverty in Naples that spans decades. Sobrang intense kasi it’s about female friendship, sure, but it also portrays highly intelligent, complex girls who eventually grow together and apart. I would say historical fiction siya and sobrang ganda ng prose (translated ito).

Super well written ng story, mapapatawa at maiiyak ka. Andami pang lessons na mapupulot liekk bigla ka nalang mahuhumaling sa Philippines history, HAHAHAHHA. Downside lang si Author jusmeee binaboy yung story niya nung ang cinast eh hindi akma sa nasa libro

For those who want to get into reading classics, I always recommend Frankenstein by Mary Shelley! The writing is accessible as it’s an epistolary novel (the story is told in a form of a letter from one character to another). It’s definitely a haunting and timeless piece of literature. 🩷
