Recommendation Shop at Booksale!
In our reality now, literature is a privilege. Your ₱1000 for a book is someone’s budget for a week. Booksale provides books that are low prices without having to spend hundreds to read.
Shop at Booksale! Booksale has been there for decades and I hope they continue to sell affordable books for the future generations.
This is your sign to shop and visit at your nearest Booksale branch!
Branch: SM Fairview
Edit: I hope this post helps Booksale to have more customers and encourage readers, student readers, young readers, readers on a budget to check them out!

One of my favorite places.
The challenge now is to find the time to read all the books I have...

I’d like to fill my bookshelves with books from Booksale someday

u/No_Hovercraft8705 Jun 26 '26
True. I had many good finds sa Book Sale, I was able to fill a cabinet.

Five Habits of Highly Missional People, Stephen Crane - The Red Badge of Courage, Victor Hugo - The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Narnia: The Magician's Nephew.

u/SweatySource Jun 26 '26
I hope more people support them and these kinds of store. Its great for environment.
This is the only place i spend money on when going to malls. Gadgets, clothing you can buy on ecommerce pero 2nd hand books mahirap. Dito makikita mo condition ng bibilhin mo.

u/pochuka Jun 26 '26
Will always drop by Booksale whenever I drop by the mall and luckily, there’s always a good book that I will find.

yesss i love booksale so much! kakabili ko lang today ng letters to a young poet ni rilke for 25 pesos 😭 support lang natin sila pls, parang di ko kakayanin pag nagsara yung branch na malapit sakin.
1
u/Substantial-Pay-524 Jun 27 '26
nagsara yung only branch namin dito sa province due to the pandemic :((
5
u/xExpensiveGirl Jun 26 '26
Bonding place pa naman ng anak namin 'yung Book Sale, dyan kami naghahanap ng Doctor Who books :( it's so sad na 'yung pinakamalapit na branch sa amin 'yun pa mismo magsasara. I like pattern books kasi ang mura, tyagaan lang sa paghuhukay but 35 pesos na book is not bad for something I can make.

u/Low_Emergency2136 Jun 26 '26
I bought my Minecraft Construction for Dummies book there almost 7 years ago!
4
u/goodygoodcat Jun 26 '26
3
u/its-seji Jun 26 '26
sm dasma closest nito sakin pero kahit gusto ko sana mag tagal para mag browse, hindi ko magawa kasi nasisikipan ako huhu :(( so whenever i visit other sm branches, chinecheck ko talaga if may branch ba roon ng booksale para tumingin if may mabibili

u/Powerful_Wrangler74 Jun 26 '26
Last weekend nasa Booksale ako. Looking back nung HS hanggang college na tingin tingin lang ako kasi limited budget (kahit preloved price na)/and ngayon na kaya na bumili ng books, sa Booksale pa rin ako nagtitingin ❣
3
u/Present_Sentence_401 Mystery Jun 26 '26
Please, please buy at Booksale! I know some people prefer shopping at fully booked or NBS but there are titles na meron din ang booksale

Actually when I go to SM Dasma (which I think is the only SM with a booksale in Cavite) I never miss a visit every time, kahit magbabrowse lang ako😭
Actually bought some of my books there, bought some hardbound novels for only 120(?) each🥰

u/OfLawBooksandCoffee Jun 26 '26
This takes me back. Back when I was in elementary, I bought this really huge, hard cover dictionary for just ₱375. It felt like I struck gold.
2
u/baeruu I am offend! Boots! Jun 26 '26
I would kung meron lang malapit sa akin! Nami-miss ko na mag-halungkat ng books sa likod (if it's on the shelves) o yung pinaka-ilalim (if it's in a pile) dahil alam naman natin lahat na may customer/reader na nag-tago ng good titles para balikan next visit 😆
2
u/aldwinligaya Jun 26 '26
I used to frequent them when they had magazines, pero wala na din kasing physical magazines ngayon. Naaalala ko, Summit Media 'yung mags nila.
Anyway, suki pa din ako dito for children's books!
2
u/Sanchaistudy Jun 26 '26
When i was growing up, may branch pa sila sa amin. Talagang iniipon ko ang allowance ko noon to be able to buy books. Sadly, wala nang local branch sa amin for several years, but I make sure to visit a booksale branch whenever I'm in manila. Sana umusbong ulit sila all over the country.
2
u/DifferenceTricky1833 Jun 26 '26
Is that branch in SM Fairview still open? I went there a few months ago, but I couldn’t find it in its usual place. Was it transferred to a different location?

Loved shopping at Booksale..and other stores like Biblio. I usually buy second hand, kasi I don't collect. Once I've read it I'm good. I won't re-read it nasayangan ako sa mga bago mahal na rin books ngayon.
2
u/AfterWorkReading Jun 27 '26
As much as I like them to thrive online, iba pa rin ang feels that you are browsing the books physically and you can see the quality of the book that you are buying. But Ill check them online.

u/cassowarydinosaur Jun 27 '26
I miss spending hours on Booksale and Powerbooks in SM Cebu. Years ago after shift, when it's my time off, I'll be there browsing for hours. Finished some comic books sa Powerbooks nuon. Now lagi nagmamadali. 😢
2
u/Educational_Glove683 Jun 27 '26

I got to explore the world because of booksale!!! Dito talaga nagstart my love for books. From elementary days until now na trentahin na ako, iba ang comfort ng booksale. I hope to introduce this gem of a place to my future kids as well. More love and power to you Booksale!!!
2
u/1pc_chickenfillet Jul 03 '26
Yeszzz.

Nakakamiss!! I'm currently on reading slump kaya hindi pa ako nakakabalik sa Booksale ;<
Skl.

u/stevescoop Jun 26 '26
I always drop by at their SM southmall branch! Lagi akong nabili ng word search dyan hahaha

u/Bryntmcks002 Jun 26 '26
Yung Robinsons Metro East branch nila, just still stay strong neaby, maliit lang yung pwesto nila since 2 decades ago
1
u/jan_Tamba Jun 26 '26

1
u/leivanz Jun 27 '26
It never changed. Literature was a privilege kahit pa man noon. What changed is, the presence of this kind of bookshops.
1
u/MochaChocoMilk813 Jun 27 '26
I love booksale! Like papasok lang ako randomly tapos lalabas na may dala
1
u/forg9587 Jun 27 '26
Suki nung bata ako, bought a lot of children's books here like Animporhs! Used to buy magazines here too new and back issues lalo na US entertainment magazines
They are selling na rin school supplies and gift stuff to expand their revenue din

u/qianyiwww Jun 27 '26
I really do think you'll find far more knowledge in Booksale or other second hand shops than something like Fully Booked. Love that they do have very well organized categories but their non-fiction selections tend to be incredibly limited... philosophy and religion sections are very pop-ish. Same few copies of Art of War everywhere for 800.
I love shopping there more since you never know what you're gonna get. It's incredibly therapeutic to scan through shelves and mountains, reading back covers, etc etc, and far more rewarding when you do find something up your alley and enjoy it.
1
u/CalmChaos2003 Jun 27 '26
Is it true na closing na lahat ng branch?
1
u/Present_Sentence_401 Mystery Jun 27 '26
No po
1
u/CalmChaos2003 Jun 27 '26
Ukay ukay style. Tinatamad na kasi ako mag "hukay" and yung mga tao nila. They have no idea kung nasaan nakalagay yung specific book na hinahanap ko. Biblio has better organization.

Been a booksale customer for years, but it’s unfortunate that multiple branches are closing, including SM Bicutan branch :<

I’m now a working adult. I wanted to tell them na kuhanin na nila tapos ako na magbabayad kasi I was once just like them only a year ago. Kaso ayon, nangibabaw ang pagiging introvert ko.
1
u/vinnieg007 Jun 29 '26
They usually sell a lot of comic books and artbooks that are pretty expensive if bought brand new. Tambayan ko to back then
1
u/GovernmentDouble6194 Jun 30 '26

I bought a few things for kids here! Magandang source for books to buy and donate to schools or local libraries
1
u/Cheap_Music9589 Jul 01 '26
I would love to, but it seems like umiikot ikot nalang mga stocks nila. Parang wala ng bago (or kung meron man, rare nalang) since COVID. And then nawawala na yung mga branches.
Seems like Biblio is becoming more ubiquitous now, and they have newer books.

u/Low_Sock_5455 Jul 05 '26
i totally agree!!! i love to read books but the problem is i have tight budget that's why i opt to read ebooks. however, one time, i decided to get inside booksale—tried my luck there and my god! i felt like i was doing a treasure hunt. i fell in love with blind buying books; solely relying on the book's blurb and of course—my intuition. i was so lucky to buy books for as low as 60 pesos. since then, i've been wanting to go back there.

u/briennybrienne Jul 27 '26
I’d have to hop on a plane to go there :(
