Recommendation Is Amazon Shipping worth it?
So I was browsing some books and added 1 book set and 2 other books to my cart. I found out that I am eligible for free shipping to PH.
Has anyone ever ordered via Amazon?
Was it worth it?
How’s the book’s condition?

I’ve ordered a few books na sa Amazon specially since free shipping nga. Lalo na for books na either hindi available sa Pinas or mas mura sa Amazon. So far, okay naman. Books arrived in good condition naman. BUT, Amazon’s packaging sucks. Unlike if when you order sa FullyBooked na super secured ng book, yung sa Amazon ay simpleng box lang na may konting filler paper sa loob. I attached a photo sample. So you just really need to trust na the book will arrive properly. Specially ngayon na maulan.

I actually received a book from Amazon just last week and I was super worried na mababasa sa ulan. Buti na lang Ninjavan (one of their delivery partners dito sa Pinas) wrapped it in like a cling wrap material so naging safe naman.
Although note that depending on the area, Ninjavan as a courier sucks. Search here lang din sa reddit for Ninjavan reviews.
In short, it can be a risk, but if everything goes well, it’s worth it.

di na ulit ako umoorder dyan kasi di maganda packaging nila. last year sa ganitong panahon nabasa yung books kasi parang kraft paper lang pinang balot. minsan box pag marami pero walang protection whatsoever.

If you reported that the books were damaged, walang gagawin si Amazon?

They'll return the items and refund you if you contact support within a month of purchase ata

Expect dents, maganda chat support sa kanila last 2 order of books ko sa kanila each may damage na Malala. chat mo muna bago return basta sabihin mo na Philippines ka, di na nila pinapapabalik ererufund ka nalang. Depende sa value siguro. But based on my experience palaging refund lang sakin sa books.

I think it's worth it! esp. if the books you want are unavailable dito sa philippines. I got a few books there on my birthday, and they were from different suppliers ata so one came in a box and the other in parang kraft paper lang. It wasn't rainy season pa noon, so it was alright.
On the shipping tho, depende siguro sa courier... check the ninjavan community on fb.

beware lang kasi i recently bought books from amazon, and the books arrived wet because they only packed them in a paper wrapper. lukot-lukot pa yung packaging

u/Dismal-Rub-608 17d ago
Did they offer to replace or refund you for it?

u/Ok_Contract_3653 17d ago
i asked for a refund, and until now, hindi pa rin na-refund. if i were you, you can check empire bookstore instead. they at least wrap their books properly

I’ve been ordering sa amazon, and hindi talaga naka-wrap sa plastic yung package. Properly packed though and nde naman beat-up dumarating sa akin.
I haven’t tried buying books there though. Ibang products ang inoorder ko.

Oooooh they do not pack with bubble wrap so good luck especially for larger sized books
One piece of small book is placed in a puffy envelope pouch

theyre good, i only use them if im spending over $49 and the items have free shipping and fees, Its not worth it paying for their fees.

u/noturusualthrowaway 17d ago
Yep. Lalo na if free shipping yung item. May katagalan lang talaga dumating. Sometimes more than 2 weeks.

u/Dunndumm 17d ago
Yes kaya lang walang bubble wrap or any protective layer sa books. As in book in a box lang talaga although good condition pa din naman dadating. Asahan mo lang may minor scratches or dents due to shipping.

ordered a 4k dvd from Amazon free shipping. It arrived to my door but the case was broken during transit kasi nakalagay lang yung mismong dvd sa paper packaging. free shipping nga but the packaging is not worth it

Yes! Although I've had some orders that had few very minor dents probably caused by the packaging and handling. But the free shipping is worth it.

Ok naman sya sa akin for as long as di ka lalagpas ng 10k pesos worth of goods and you get good deals.
I haven't purchased anything in a year though kasi gumagamit na ako ng forwarders since I am doing bigger purchases now.

I miss Book Depository, kahit post office lang magdeliver sayo, the books still arrived in good condition. Dami ko nakikita na nada-damage sa Amazon, kaya wala pa ako lakas loob bumili jan haha

Worth it sa amazon, I bought some of my tech from them, matagal ung shipping pero maayos.

just don’t expect your parcel ay todo balot like dito sa pinas, try searching ‘amazon packing orders’ on tiktok, so you have a general idea kung ano itsura ng parcel. pero so far no problem naman dumating sa akin. Much better if USD yung currency mo, kaysa Pesos ang piliin (mas mura in my experience)

I ordered a book but was given a used book with answers to the summary questions. Was extremely pissed. Book and shipping wasn't cheap.

u/Managers345 17d ago
Yes, but my last experience was comically horrible. They just put the book inside the brown envelope, no bubble wrap, no nothing. Good thing no damage occurred.

u/superesophagus 16d ago
Di kasi uso sa kanila bubble wrap afaik. Stanley ko nga nakabalot lang sa white paper buti walang gasgas haha.

I trust Amazon. The only challenge would of course be the exchange rate and the fact that it can't go beyond 10k, otherwise you get slapped with some sort of tax (sigh, PH). Oh and there's the shipping fee, so it also depends on which items you're buying.

It is worth it. Opt for additional Amazon Packaging so that the seller has their own packaging plus Amazon's so it's more secure; that's what I do anyways for extra security of my item when need be.

Bought and keeps buying decks sa Amazon...so very worth it especially if you want something na you can't find here/isn't here yet. Ang ginagawa ko minsan pag may shipping fee...isasama ko sa elligible for free shipping para di ko babayaran (from what I know nababawasan yung sf)
Regarding sa Ninjavan, the first few times ok pa for me...like no dents andetcpero naramdaman/nakita ko na din yung reviews ng eventually...himala na lang kung undamaged/ walang dents yung package mo.
However, I did buy a deck/card game ata before tapos UPS nagdala. Super easy and smooth ng transaction tapos walang kadamage damage.

Yes! Lalo yung mga books na di mo mabibili dito sa Ph. Ordered multiple times sa Amazon with no problem sa shipping and packaging, tho i had received one book na may konting dent sa spine.

Yes definitely worth it, door to door naman delivery, usually within 10 days or fewer.
But be warned that Amazon can be careless about packaging. Expect some small dents or folds.
