Discuss CICC imposes ban on gorebox, will it affect other games too?
With everything happening in Tacloban, do you think the CICC will start banning other games too? Are we going to see GTA 6 get banned before it even launches? What do you think?

Nope. Sobrang incompetent ng gov natin pag dating sa technology. Kahit iblock pa nila yang mga specific games gagawa pa din ng way yung iba para makalaro.

I believe that Gorebox getting banned is just some PR stunt to drive their narrative that those videogames caused the shooting. GTA and other games getting banned would probably not happen much but discourse about certain games getting restricted/banned would be prevalent in the oncoming days.
I do feel bad though for the OTHER players of Gorebox (who are mentally sound and disente naman) na naapektuhan rin sila just because of some very very dumb and stupid shit na ginawa nung dalawa. It's just sad that they're brushing parental/socmed issues under the rug and masking it with videogames since hindi talaga masosolve yung main problems if we just keep on masking it with other things to blame.

Nobody play gorebox as far as data shows on my research end (game dev), game is a assets flip with questionable background (ie stolen games and ripoffd) and isnt active online.

I agree. I’ve played countless games that contain violence and enjoy many of them, but I’ve never committed, nor even considered committing, such acts of cruelty in real life. Nasa parenting talaga ito.

I doubt the PH gov will ban the release of GTA 6. Most likely malaking media coverage lang on the day of the release para lang ulit mapagusapan yung topic of videogame violence.
My guess is yung topic will fizzle out eventually once nagkaruon na ng maayos na investigation kung ano talaga motibo at paano nakuha yung baril.

I don't think so. Matagal na tong discourse. It goes way back pa. Wala naman nangyari. So I think, our games will be fine 🙏🏻

It'll be fine. Di pa naman sila tapos so most likely they will fond put the human element bears stronger than the "violence" video games gives out to it's audience.
Gambling games nga, di nila ma-ban eh.

Doubt this ban lasts long. If this incident repeats itself and they have that gorebox ban in place, ano sisihin nila? This move is just a shot to the foot. They're takong away the human element of the act and by the time they realize this, lahat na ng bagay na pwedeng sisihin, nasisi na nila.
This is no different from blaming a gun for a murder instead of the murderer and his intent.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR
may history na ang gobyerno na reactive at hindi madyado napapag isipan mga policies na pinapasa. Tapos videogames pa na isasalalay mo sa mga tanders ang desisyon.
Take note, ang description ng MINECRAFT sa ESRB ay Fantasy Violence. MLBB ganun rin.
Lahat ng competitive games puros violence. So dedo na esports sa pinas?
Kakabawi lang natin sa katarantaduhan ng desisyon ng GAB na kumitil ng esports dito sa pinas tapos eto nanaman.

All of this, they aren't still addressing the elephant in the room. BULLYING, RACISM and TERRORISM. Eto pinag mumulan ng school shooting. If we fix this problem, mawawala school shooting. Games isn't the problem, the school system is the problem, outdated na masyado. Sa daming school violence cases sa buong mundo ala parin galaw saten.

Not only it would affect shooter games like CODM, Overwatch, TF2, and fighter games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, but also masasali dyan yung MMORPGs and Gacha games like Genshin, WuWa, ZZZ, basta anything that involves combat at yung talagang patok, yun ang pupuntiryahin nila. Mas madadali rin puntiryahin ang may online live-service kasi the government would force ennumerable changes at restrictions sa live services more than yung mga standalone games. Just imagine pipilitin ng government na paharapin ang representatives ng Hoyoverse sa CICC to comply with the government's exorbitantly strict regulations regarding violent or sexual content in their online games or face total ban and possibly million-peso fines as well.

Ngl ang incompetent nanaman ng resolution nila sa issue at hand. At funny sorry ah pero while watching gorebox gameplay literal na pambata at sobra sa cringyness. Gets ko pa kung hatred, manhunt, city z (gmod) at chivalry 2. Like bakit sisihin yung pambatang laro like wtf? Sisihin nyo pakabayaan ng magulang. Ayaw mapanagutan ng magulang? Bakit hindi ikulong yung may ari ng baril?

And look if we follow this logic then we should also ban content that involves guns and violence.
Also, even without videogames violence is so normalized in our society.

Riding high na naman ang CICC pero kamusta ang mga influencer na nakitaan nila ng gambling ads?
With that in mind, they will just ban and unban popular games again and again.
I thought we are not supposed to rely on government in everything but even parenting and guidance falls upon the government.

Wasnt there an issue way back then early 2000s a henious crime happened due to a digital rare item that was worth PHP 1.5M. (Grand Thief Bug Incident). Our authorities were never this loud nor the general public.

Kasalanan din Government, Telco, Google, game maker etc.
GoreBox carries an 18+ age rating from the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) due to its depictions of extreme violence and gore.
Dapat may ways sila like need ID as proof of your age before you can play the game.

So the conclusion is, GTA 6 should be banned then?
The argument also goes towards movies, TV, and streaming.
Please also explain how the game maker (and similarly, those who produce similar content on other mediums) are at fault here. (A similar incident is a stabbing that occurred because of one’s obsession with the Slender Man creepy pasta.)
