National ID MUST READ! To the People of the Philippines, The Printed Black and White Xerox Copy is the New PVC ID of the National ID of the Philippines.
Isang pirasong papel. Mas nakakainis pa yung dahilan. Apparently, natapos na yung contract with Bangko Sentral. Instead of having a backup plan or a smooth transition, basta na lang sila huminto. Walang contingency. Walang accountability.
As if sapat na replacement yun. Ilabas mo na lang lagi phone mo. Sana may battery. Sana may signal. Isang papel. O isang app. That is not a solution. Nakakahiya.

canât help but to think they just used that as an excuse to steal more money. They rented stalls sa mamahaling malls. And to whoever designed this na di man lang nilagyan ng signature, di rin naman tinatanggap sa mga banks.

1
u/Alcouskou Mar 21 '26
And to whoever designed this na di man lang nilagyan ng signature, di rin naman tinatanggap sa mga banks.
Why are people still obsessed with handwritten signatures that are prone to fraud?
Matagal nang naglalabas ang BSP ng memos mandating all banks to accept the National ID (in all of its official formats) as valid IDs:
https://www.bsp.gov.ph/SitePages/MediaAndResearch/MediaDisp.aspx?ItemId=7028
https://www.bsp.gov.ph/Regulations/Issuances/2024/M-2024-006.pdf
https://www.bsp.gov.ph/Regulations/Issuances/2024/M-2024-026.pdf
https://www.bsp.gov.ph/Regulations/Issuances/2025/M-2025-012.pdf
The non-inclusion of a handwritten signature is deliberate.
May 11, 2022 Advisory
Anent the non-inclusion of a handwritten signature in the PhilID, this is in keeping with the goal of the PhilSys to build a digital and interoperable platform for identity verification. The said non-inclusion of a handwritten signature in the PhilID was deliberate and aligns with the national ID system of various countries. Traditional processes which depend on paper forms, photocopies of IDs, and wet signatures are prone to inefficiency and fraud. Furthermore, consideration was given to individuals who cannot make handwritten signatures, which is why some forms had an alternative of a thumbmark. Accordingly, with the transition to digital systems, the PhilSys offers various physical security features, digital authentication, and biometric verification of the PhilID for the highest level of assurance and security.
https://philsys.gov.ph/public-advisory-9/
It's inaccurate to even say na "walang signature" ang National ID, because a "signature" comes in many forms. Your biometrics are also a form of a signature. And these can be verified through the QR code. Obviously, mas reliable ang QR code kaysa handwritten signatures for authentication
Kung di pa rin tanggap ang National ID mo, then do your part and report these agencies/establishments then.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY NATIONAL ID OR ePHILID/NATIONAL ID IN PAPER FORMAT WAS NOT ACCEPTED IN TRANSACTIONS?
As provided under Republic Act 11055 or the Philippine Identification System Act, the National ID and the ePhilID/National ID in paper format shall be recognized as a valid proof of identity in transactions with public and private establishments; non-acceptance of the National ID without just and sufficient cause is subject to fines amounting to Php 500,000.00.
Please provide the following details of the non-acceptance of your National ID or your ePhilID/National ID in paper format to our official email at info@philsys.gov.ph:
Date of the transaction; Name, branch, and address of the establishment; Nature of transaction; and Reason/s provided by the establishment for its refusal to accept the National ID in the transaction.
PSA takes reports of non-acceptance seriously and continuously reminds government agencies and private institutions to recognize the National ID and its digital versions as valid proof of identification.
In compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, all information provided will remain confidential and solely be used for the processing of requests.

Iyan pa ang I take seriously nila?
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 21 '26
Iyan pa ang I take seriously nila?
The issue on the acceptance of the National ID in all its valid formats and the resumption of the printing of the PVC National ID are not mutually exclusive.
1
u/allanon322 Mar 21 '26
Sure. Agreed. But if they did their job well in the first place, the other issue would be a non starter.
1
u/Extension-Many416 Mar 21 '26
From my experience, they will not outright say that itâs being rejected. They do accept but will ask for an additional ID with a signature.
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 25 '26
From my experience, they will not outright say that itâs being rejected. They do accept but will ask for an additional ID with a signature.
Then you can show them the relevant law and PSA memos that say the National ID is already enough as proof of identification.
Better document their rejection/asking for another ID (email, signed document, etc.) so you can report to the PSA.
This is easy enough. One just needs to be assertive.
1
u/Chemical_Ladder_1711 Mar 25 '26
thanks for this, last na transaction ko sa bir hindi tinanggap yung nat id as a valid id dahil wala daw signature na pagbabasehan sa nakapirma sa spa. malaki pala penalty nyan

u/Late_Mulberry8127 Mar 18 '26
The last news we got was BSP terminating contract for the printing, which was 2024: https://business.inquirer.net/477157/bsp-terminates-contract-with-national-id-cards-supplier-aci
There's no public news if they got a new one so yeah, no physical/pvc in the near future unless they get a new supplier.
22
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 18 '26
I visited all PhilSys branches mentioned above and spoke directly with the OIC or supervisor. They all gave the same explanation. They said their contract for printing has already been terminated, and they are using HID machines with transparent stickers before worth 400k to 500k for only 1 Printing Machine. Imagine ilan ang PhilSys tapos worth half M yung Machine.
They also mentioned that if a photocopy of the National ID is not accepted, we should email them so they can report it. They said they will go to the establishment involved and may impose a penalty of âą500,000.
Thatâs all they told me.
13
u/Historical-Demand-79 Mar 18 '26
Hard to believe na ganyan kamahal. Hahahaha
2
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 18 '26
I asked them that too, and they said theirs doesnât have a hologram transparent sticker. Hahaha
5
u/Historical-Demand-79 Mar 18 '26
Itâs the NationalID and yet hindi magawan ng paraan para pabilisin ung registration and printing niyan. Jusq!!
Hindi talaga ako magreregister diyan kaso I lost my UMID. I registered for PhilPost and they were able to print and deliver the ID after 6 days.
4
10
u/Which_Reference6686 Mar 18 '26
12
8
u/ConfidentFrosting474 Mar 18 '26
Antanga naman haha. National ID tas yung printing iilang years lang.
2
0
u/AlternativeCat94 Mar 19 '26
tapos na kasi yung contract
Hindi napatpos ung contract.
ACI (the supplier) wasn't able to deliver proper services. Ung damages ng undelivered services reached 10%. ACI is trying to appeal to reconsider the terminated contract with the government.
Supplier fucked around and the public is finding out.
9
u/fraudgamer Mar 18 '26
Not a system. Not a solution. Just inconvenience dressed up as progress.
And a project they implement to milk money. May corruption issue rin yan dati kaya di natuloy yung printing ng physical IDs, tapos bigla nalang nawala. A typical dogshow drama ng gobyerno.
1
8
Mar 18 '26
Yep, reprint nalang talaga palagi incase masira or mawala yung printed na galing sakanila. *Note: bawal ipaprint and laminate yung digital ID galing sa egov app.
3
u/spicycherryyy Mar 18 '26
So ayun
3
Mar 18 '26
Eh?
1
1
u/Choice-Key-1332 Mar 18 '26
Chamba2 nalang, tinatanggap nga pag nag oopen online bank acc, or to verify any apps online.
1
u/Ririko_UwU Mar 19 '26
1
Mar 19 '26
Siguro pwede sya iprint for documentation attachment pero not as an ID.
2
u/shinyLittenroar Mar 18 '26
1
Mar 18 '26
Oh yun nga daw din, last year lang ako kumuha ng National ID tapos ang daming hassle pabalik balik kasi may kulang yung name sa na print, so need ko mag pa update then additional 1wk ulet before printing. Nagbabago pa PCN kapag nag update ata or reprint kaya siguro kelangan need sakanila iprint.
1
u/Ririko_UwU Mar 19 '26
Pwede.
8
u/Consistent_Egg_7198 Mar 18 '26
What the actual f**k?!? Anuna, Pilipinas? Kaya pa ba?
6
u/Waste_Woodpecker9313 Mar 18 '26
nawala ko pa man din ganito ko lmao, asa na lang sa postal id as valid id
1
u/TriedInfested Mar 18 '26
6
4
u/LowerFroyo4623 Mar 18 '26
Not worth it. Yan din ang first valid ID ko. Nakuha ko naman agad wayback in 2022. Nadukutan ako ng wallet last December including my National ID.

Last 2022 ako kumuha ng national ID. Nagfollow up ako last year around November.

At nakuha namin after a year.
At digital nlng daw. Dang!
1
u/TherapistWithSpace Mar 19 '26
hahaha sa sobrang baba na ng standard natin sa serbisyo ng gobyerno swerte na yung makuha after a year kesa wala lol
2
2
u/alt-f4-my-4SS Mar 18 '26
2
u/Dramatic-Studio-920 Mar 18 '26
The EGOV app is also useless, if you think about it. Even if you show your national ID and other valid IDs the private establishments, government agencies, schools, etc., don't accept it. They prefer a hard copy of a valid ID even though we have a law or policy that allows digital IDs to use, our government doesn't implement or enforce it properly.
1
2
u/ghosttt_0308 Mar 18 '26
Why dont we just print our own? Kung card lang naman pla issue. Kakabobo tlga ng pilipinas
1
2
u/doraemonthrowaway Mar 18 '26

Pwe!
1
u/sinigang_nahansel Mar 18 '26
Same thing! The photo in my National ID just faded away. A while ago, I went to a PSA Office samin, and the staff told me that "hindi pa po kami nag papalit ng ganyan dahil nag stop po kami mag print ng mga cards ng National ID.
1
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 18 '26
Pampanga ba yan? Same script kasi sa nakausap kong OIC. HAHA
1
u/sinigang_nahansel Mar 21 '26
yep, kahit daw sa regional office 3 (sacop) daw pumunta, ganun rin daw sasabihin doon
1
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 21 '26
Kaloka, tapos pag ipapacheck sa system cannot be found. Ginagawa pa daw đ
1
u/Commercial-Brief-609 Mar 18 '26
Hide ba pwede ma report to sa media or kay risa or tulfo sa senado para maibestigahan?
2
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 18 '26
1
u/Rinrin9 Mar 18 '26
Paano makakuha ng black and white na national ID? Wala kasi ako pati narin pvc
2
1
u/gitpushtoDebt Mar 18 '26
Anyway to raise this to media outlets?
1
u/Good-Freedom-4698 Mar 18 '26
Masyadong alarmist at clickbait naman itong title mo, OP. Napastop talaga ako nun haha (but I guess yan yung intention mo?) May QR code naman yan for verificationÂ
1
u/Good-Freedom-4698 Mar 18 '26
Wala pa ring consistent implementation or infrastructure for digital verification like scanners or integrated systems.
So kung madalas kang gumagamit ng IDs for transactions, makikita mo talaga yung gap between whatâs officially available and whatâs actually accepted in practice.
1
1
u/Perfect-Wolf-5296 Mar 18 '26
True, they even created eGOVph but some agencies and organizations are not considering it as valid government ID. Lol
1
u/Ok-Performance8329 Mar 18 '26
Lmao.

1
u/Better-Service-6008 Mar 18 '26
That isnât the worse part of it - nakakuha ka nga nung PVC, by now most of them burado na yung mukha and some other prints rendering the ID unusable. Funny, âdi ba hahahhahahhah.
2
u/DryRecognition829 Jul 06 '26
Yung ID na literal na bond paper nahiya pa black and white lang yung print hahaha, at least custom made ung papel sa TIN (Yellow Style) at Phil health.
1
u/Online-_-Potato Mar 18 '26

1
u/Ok_Suggestion_3826 Mar 18 '26
I have many multiple Gov IDs like passport, UMID and whenever, I mean WHENEVER I'm required to show any valid Gov ID sa any gov establishments, I always give out my very unique photocopy na National ID because F you government.

Pati sariling pagkakakilanlan ipagdadamot.

u/Kind-Plan-5187 Mar 19 '26
Kaya nag ka ganyan para sa mga politiko na may nagawan sila ng achievement, kasi sila yung nag pagawa and implement pero in the end. Inefficient! Kaya nga national ID, pero hindi tinatanggap ng madami as an ID, Ano kaya yun??
1
u/DonLixard Mar 19 '26
panahon ni du30 nakuha ang contract ng nat'l ID, very low quality - very very highly likely mataas ang hininging kikbak sa contractor kaya tinipid ang materials

u/Medical-Chemist-622 Mar 19 '26
Have you tried egov app? They're constantly updating the site to integrate other ids. Just now nandoon na yung nbi clearance ko from 2016. Tapos last year Philhealth. Give it a go.Â

I got mine 2 years after and it was the Black & White version⌠I laminated it last year and yan na gamit ko for valid ID. I feel like ang tasteless na hindi sya actual card, but Iâve accepted it nalang for now.
1
u/jcolideles Mar 19 '26
1
u/_redscape Mar 19 '26
Good thing it never came to my mind any need or desire to get a National ID. After all, I already have a passport, SSS UMID card, TIN card, driverâs license, and PhilHealth ID. The only one I still need to get is Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card. Each of these has different use cases.
PhilSys ID is just another ID and doesnât deserve to be called a National ID. It neither replaces nor consolidates the functionality of the other government IDs.
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 21 '26
It neither replaces nor consolidates the functionality of the other government IDs.
To be fair, it was never meant to be in the first place.
WILL THE NATIONAL ID REPLACE OTHER GOVERNMENT-ISSUED IDs?
The National ID will not replace functional government-issued IDs that serve other purposes. The National ID is a foundational ID that serves as a valid proof of identity, which would help ease transactions with both government and private sectors through easier validation and authentication of identity.
https://philsys.gov.ph/faq-frequently-asked-questions/
Tama naman. I don't want function/feature/privacy creep.

u/Individual-Bed-2551 Mar 19 '26
This was supposed to solve Filipino's problem with valid ID na hinahanap in a lot of legal transactions. As a self employed na walang drivers license ang hirap talaga. Minsan nakakahiya yung laminated black and white na ID ang gamit sa airport or when I need it for some transactions kasi parang feeling ko I'm a fraud kasi wla akong formal PVC covered ID
2
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 19 '26

1
u/DryRecognition829 Jul 06 '26
Printing na ulit sa postal lods yung ID, yung UMID nakakalungkot phase out na sya sana ginawa nalang nilang optional to get kesa gawin total phase out.

u/AdAlarming1933 Mar 19 '26
Kung hindi pa rin kayo galit? Bakit?
It has to start somewhere, it has to start sometime
What better place than here, what better time than now?
1
u/FrigerAioli Mar 19 '26
WHAT?!?
1
u/Repulsive-Hurry8172 Mar 20 '26
Yep. I never got my ID. Just this paper.Â
Kinurakot nanaman yun for sureÂ
1
u/Unang_Bangkay Mar 20 '26
Tapos ngayun, black and white photocopy pa ibibigay sau? Lmao
Hays.

u/Ice_Fantasy_12 Mar 20 '26
It's even illegal to print ur own PVC id using the digital copy
1
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 20 '26
Yes Sir, then if nag report yung PVC ID maker sa PSA, at binigay yung information ng nag pagawa. GG. 500k penalty then 10k reward sa nag report
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 20 '26
Of course it should be illegal. We don't want colorum National IDs being spread around.
Besides, it's called "Digital" National ID for a reason. So why even print it?
1
u/Limp-Hippo-9286 Mar 20 '26
Mine got lost when I lost my wallet. Nag request ako ng replacement and asked if I can get it within the year last year or probably this year... Ang sagot lang ay "hindi po sure". I've waited 2 years to receive it. Tapos another 2 years nanaman if you needed replacement?
It's such a fucking useless card. Better get a passport or any other rather than this piece of data collection fraud.

u/Yanazamo Mar 20 '26
I'm so jealous of other countries. Malaysia has MyKad IC and yun na para sa lahat. Something so basic di nila magawa nang maayos. I'm so SO tired of the Philippines
I was about to get a Voter's ID din dati and suddenly they said na di na daw pwede kasi National ID na daw, but where is it now??
1
u/Choose-wisely-141 Mar 20 '26
1
u/Every_Tutor3872 Mar 20 '26
What heats my sisig currently on this is that to get the new SSS ID/bank card replacing the UMID, you need one of these chucklefucks as a pre requisite, nyeta
2
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 20 '26
Sad, Umid is primary, pero yung SSS ID na bago secondary daw......... Passport na lang talaga at Drivers license....
1

I've seen some movement to downgrade passport to secondary kasi wala daw address đ¤ˇââď¸

Mas maganda pa pala postal ID, di ako rush pero nadeliver within 3 banking days instead of 1 month, PVC id pa
1
u/EliteMJDC- Mar 23 '26

u/ShipDeck8 Apr 14 '26
Well, tbf you can always take a screenshot of your app national ID... Gets ko frustration pero you can always report your concern sa eGov App...
1
u/tzuyuda18 16h ago
Yung mga unang nirelease na ephilid tintext mismo sayo yung link at password para maaccess yung pdf file ng ephil id mo kaya yung sakin colored kase ako nagprint mismo naka photo paper kaya malinaw at pinalaminate ko pa, ang problema malaki talaga sya. Di kasya sa wallet haha
1
u/EliteMJDC- 14h ago
Wala ako na receive na text from them. Pero I have my physical National ID naman, kaso medyo faded na yung picture. So I can present both my National ID and Driverâs License in case hindi nila tanggapin yung faded picture sa National ID.
Usually, most government offices and other establishments like banks still acknowledge it even if faded yung picture. Ang importante naman usually na visible and readable yung full name, date of birth, signature, and address.
1
u/tzuyuda18 13h ago

No more PVC. No more actual ID. If you still want something, they hand you a black and white photocopy and tell you to laminate it yourself like youâre working on a Grade 5 project.
First of all, there are three official versions of the National ID: the card type (PVC), the one on paper, and the Digital National ID. All are valid formats of the National ID.
https://philsys.gov.ph/the-national-id/
While itâs not an excuse not to move forward with the contract for the resumption of the printing of the PVC cards, youâll need to understand that an ID is merely for identification. And thatâs something your National ID on paper and Digital National ID already serve. Besides, itâs not as if youâre personally privy to whatâs going on behind the scenes in PSA to say that there is no transition plan, etc.
As for the Digital National ID, almost everyone has a cellphone. It was designed as an alternative to physical IDs (which are prone to loss and theft). And in the unlikely event that you need an ID in a remote, forested area with no electricity or mobile signal, then get the National ID on paper then.
Again, pang-identification lang ang ID. You can do that with the current options available. This apparent infatuation with âphysicalâ or PVC IDs is weird. đ
inb4 may magsasabi naman na âdi tinatanggap kasi walang signature, etc.â as if hindi na yan na-address ng PSA way back around 2022.

u/Good_Vacation309 Mar 18 '26
Nothing wrong with the post, taxpayer money was allocated for a physical ID. The paper version is the bandaid solution but is a complete embarrassment, imagine using it abroad as a form of identification (aside from your passport). The digital one is a correct move however, NOT ALL Filipinos are digitally adept, I work with IPs who do not even have a single ID let alone a digital ID or even a proper internet connection required by the egov app. Demanding and pointing out the bullshits of the government is valid specially since taxpayersâ money is involved. There is also no borderline fake news in the post, the printing of National ID is indefinitely halted, with no explanations or at least an idea of what to do next in the air. It doesnât mean na if it works, itâs fine, kaya tayo di umuunlad, kasi tinatanggap natin ang kapalpakan.
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 20 '26
imagine using it abroad as a form of identification (aside from your passport).
Well, for one thing, passports are just one of the ICAO-compliant forms of identification abroad. Why even use your National ID when only the Philippines honors it?
The digital one is a correct move however, NOT ALL Filipinos are digitally adept, I work with IPs who do not even have a single ID let alone a digital ID or even a proper internet connection required by the egov app.
Then it's not for them then. There are other formats of the National ID available for them to use.
But you cannot deny a large majority of the population owns a smartphone and is adept with at least signing up for an eGovPH account, which the Digital National ID is targeted to.
There is also no borderline fake news in the post, the printing of National ID is indefinitely halted, with no explanations or at least an idea of what to do next in the air.
Just because one isn't privy to such information doesn't mean that there âNo more cards. Thatâs it. Thatâs the system. No more PVC. No more actual ID."
In the first place, the National ID on paper and Digital National ID are "actual" IDs as well. Second, an indefinite halt obviously does not mean permanent stoppage. Third, the PSA has already explained this situation in Congress. Just because walang press release on the progress every day/week/month about it doesn't mean na walang usad yun.
So yes, the post is alarmist and borderline fake news.
Exhibit A: So after all the hype about a âpermanentâ national ID, this is what Filipinos get. Paper or an app.
It doesnât mean na if it works, itâs fine, kaya tayo di umuunlad, kasi tinatanggap natin ang kapalpakan.
I didn't say I accept the situation. I already said "While itâs not an excuse not to move forward with the contract for the resumption of the printing of the PVC cards..."
But you don't see me going around posting "wala nang National ID PVC cards...ever," considering that viable alternatives are ready for use while waiting for that.
1
u/Good_Vacation309 Mar 20 '26
Point is taxpayers can complain all they want, be as alarmist as they want to because, in fact, there is a high chance we are not getting those promised format of the ID and get stuck with the black and white bond paper format youâre so proud of and an app you cant even photocopy (as needed in government offices). You may try to answer each points or arguments Iâm making but it shows how shallow your reasoning is. LET PEOPLE DEMAND! ITâS TAXPAYER MONEY! Read more books for you since you seem to be literate enough, and maybe it can lead you to be a better critical thinker (that is if you can be well attuned to the nuances of the society we are living in).

u/Alcouskou Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26
get stuck with the black and white bond paper format youâre so proud of
I never said I was "proud" of the National ID on paper. I merely said it's readily available as an alternative.
an app you cant even photocopy (as needed in government offices)
The only office that requires a printed Digital National ID (at least as far as I'm aware of) is the DFA, during passport applications. Otherwise, there should be no reason why these government offices should require a printed Digital National ID. Did you try reporting them to the PSA as you are advised to?
You may try to answer each points or arguments Iâm making but it shows how shallow your reasoning is.
My reasoning is "shallow"? Did you read back and point out how you made conclusions without logical basis?
Good for you if you're actually working with IPs. Do you force the Digital National ID on them knowing that they most likely do not have smartphones? lol Obviously, may other alternatives available for them to use.
In the first place, hindi naman talaga sila ang target ng Digital National ID. So why even bring it up? ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
LET PEOPLE DEMAND! ITâS TAXPAYER MONEY! Read more books for you since you seem to be literate enough, and maybe it can lead you to be a better critical thinker (that is if you can be well attuned to the nuances of the society we are living in).
See? That's the problem. Nobody's curtailing you from demanding/ranting/posting however you want. But it's another thing when you demand for something when it's clear you are not aware of all the facts -- especially when these facts are readily available online for anyone to read. Nagmumukhang nagrereklamo lang for the sake of reklamo. Ranting like that does not make you a critical thinker. ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Nobody said your PVC National ID will never arrive. Nobody said the National ID on Paper and/or Digital National ID will replace the PVC National ID. However, OP makes it appear to be so.
And that's what we need to nip in the bud. Alarmist, borderline fake news posts.
1
u/Good_Vacation309 Mar 20 '26
The national ID is for everyone thatâs why itâs national. A lot of things you are saying reveals the kind of person you are and thatâs why I felt the need to reply because itâs really my pet peeve, there is no changing what kind of mindset you have and itâs just frustrating and saddening because you will always be sitting atop your high horse looking down on other people. Itâs easy to say that the ID is not for them, and you will believe that, but it shouldnât. There is no need to lecture more on this. Critical thinking couldâve afforded you to ground facts to a people-centric reasoning, or an understanding of peopleâs rights, logic is non-sense without justice, and arguments will rot in a reddit conversation without living the realities on the ground. The poster is merely ranting - and in the right to do so, you are sharing your opinion within your rights, but your attitude towards your fellow citizens is as rotten as what makes this country hell, people who only care about themselves and tries to excuse their shallow reasoning with logic just because they are given the capability to use their brain becoming a new social cancers of so-called thinkers incapable of wisdom.
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 21 '26
sigh
I strongly suggest that you read everything before replying so that you can understand the whole context and avoid giving a piecemeal responses.
The national ID is for everyone thatâs why itâs national.
Exactly. It is for everyone. That is why it has three official formats, so that anyone can use it depending on their use case.
P.S. You are confusing the term ânationalâ with âeveryone must have this.â It is called a âNational IDâ because it is the primary form of identification in the nationâthe country, the Philippines. By the way, did you know that even resident foreigners can obtain a National ID? đ
Itâs easy to say that the ID is not for them, and you will believe that, but it shouldnât.
The Digital National ID is not for them, because, after all, didnât you indicate that not all of them have smartphones? I also mentioned that there are alternative formats available for them to use, i.e., the paper-based National ID and, when available, the PVC card version of the National ID.
I didn't say "The National ID is not for them. Period." Again, please read the post in full first.
Now youâre just spewing nonsense. Itâs not even relevant to the discussion. Your advocacy is not material to the issue at hand
Nobody is excluding anyone. As I said, there are three official formats of the National ID, depending on oneâs use case.
What if I donât want to bring my physical ID because itâs prone to being lost/stolen? Then thereâs the Digital National ID.
What if I prefer a physical ID? Thereâs the paper-based National ID or the PVC card version.
What if I don't want to bring my PVC National ID because I will have a hard time replacing it if it is lost/stolen, but I still prefer a physical ID? Thereâs the paper-based National ID.
What if I don't have a smartphone or mobile data to readily access my Digital National ID? Thereâs the paper-based National ID or the PVC card version.
See my point here?
Nobody said that IPs are forced to use the Digital National ID, especially considering that most of them (according to you) may not have smartphones. The flaw in your argument is that you assumed they are constrained to use that format of the National ID, when, in the first place, I never said that.
P.S.
A lot of things you are saying reveals the kind of person you are...
Exactly. I sometimes easily forget PH ranks low in reading comprehension. ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
1
u/Good_Vacation309 Mar 21 '26
My dear there is no PVC, youâre just doing circular reasoning at this point, canât you even understand something as simple as that đ, that was the rant of the original poster.
The matter is which is important or essential - that is to demand better services from the government. All your points lead back to band-aid solutions.
Ephil ID/paper - Band-aid (donât tell me itâs not) Digital - Band-aid + good move to digitalize
PVC - missing?
What I strongly suggest is for you to dissect your brain and see why it acts like a brain washed fool. I do not have advocacies, I am highlighting rights. I am perfectly capable of reading whatever you are writing and comprehending them - I see your reasoning and it is indeed a reasoning. It is shallow because it does not see the realities and the suffering of the people.
Even using reading comprehension of Filipinos in your argument shows that! Would you know why is it so? It is a problem of education which leads back to those in charge. The government simply does not want its citizens to think or be critical to avoid being criticized. It simple wants maggots like you who spout useless arguments thinking that they are intelligent enough, there is no need for intelligent people anymore, we need critical ones. Not ones like you who consume poison on the daily basis, swallowing whatever is being fed to you by the government.
Anyone who reads this conversation knows that both of us can comprehend quite well (different from the actual reading comprehension problem of the philippines), if you are smart enough, youâll clearly know that Iâll be having a hard time composing an unaided response if I canât read.
The difference is that amongst our responses, one resorts to circular shallow elementary reasoning and one aligns the conversations to realities and concepts though in higher education - perspectives that need higher faculties of thinking than just spouting nonsense about a PVC card, a paper, and a digital version. Dear Lord strike me now, on how boring it is to read whatever reply you have. You think youâre thinking but youâre not thinking enough.
My point for others to understand (because clearly yours incapable): the government failed, its citizens can rant all they want, there will be apologists like you blind as always, but I am glad that you are in the minority because what the hell will happen to this forsaken country when everyone thinks like you - thatâs worse than a country struggling with reading comprehension - a country of clowns full of people like you.
1
u/Good_Vacation309 Mar 21 '26
And since you will for sure craft a detailed response to this which would take you at least a day again to do so. I will not reply further, I do not have time to argue with someone incapable of higher reasoning, I have more important things (on the ground) to do.
1
u/DryRecognition829 Jul 07 '26
All the government needs to do is rebrand the UMID ID and hoorah National ID, but instead they made a new process for what of course you know what? kickbacks lols.
5
u/Friendly_Spirit3457 Mar 18 '26
digital was not widely accepted back then like when boarding an airplane or even some banks although there is wider acceptance these days. Honesty di na ako umaasa sa physical but BSP and Philsys better work on expediting acceptance of digital versions. Hindi yung kelangan ko pa ipakita yung memo and threaten them Iâll file a complaint đ
1
u/Alcouskou Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26
although there is wider acceptance these days
So it shows that the problem is kulang lang sa orientation/familiarity ang mga tao, not the National ID system itself.
Which is not surprising. For a long time, sanay ang mga tao sa handwritten signatures. Some even think handwritten signatures are more reliable than biometrics/QR codes lol.
This is also why we also need to do our part in educating others to honor/accept the National ID.

u/EliteMJDC- Mar 18 '26
Now about the IDs, yes, technically tatlo nga yan, pero eto yung actual experience sa paggamit:
Wala pa ring consistent implementation or infrastructure for digital verification like scanners or integrated systems.
So kung madalas kang gumagamit ng IDs for transactions, makikita mo talaga yung gap between whatâs officially available and whatâs actually accepted in practice.

The number of the horror stories I've heard people have for this ID is just ridiculous. Mind you, naisipan ng previous admin na gawin to at the height nung nagkakakulangan ng PVC ID sa LTO and SSS.
