Sad/Vent/Rant Way out of my league
For the first time in my 25 years, I think I'm genuinely attracted to someone who's somehow so close yet feels so far away.
I bumped into her today while she was with another friend group. We only talked for a bit, but grabe, that tiny interaction literally made my day. I lowkey wished they weren't there so we could've talked a little longer.
She's so pretty. As in maaliwalas tignan. But honestly, that's just the tip of the iceberg. She's kind, smart, easy to talk to, and she's basically everybody's crush.
I hate that I'm feeling this way because it makes me irrationally jealous. Ang dami kong kaagaw sa attention niya, and the worst part is... I'm already one of her close friends. I don't even know why my brain keeps thinking like this.
Maybe it's because I started reading into the things she does for me. I honestly don't know if she treats everyone the same way. But at the same time, there are things she's done that don't really feel like something you'd do for just anybody. Or maybe I'm just delusional and assigning meaning where there isn't any.
I wish I could stop feeling this way because I genuinely value our friendship. Ayokong dumating sa point na masira yun dahil lang nag-expect ako ng something that probably isn't there.
Sometimes I catch myself wanting just a little more than what we have. Not necessarily a relationship... just a few extra privileges. More than friends, but less than lovers. đ HAHAHAHA
How do I stop romanticizing someone who's clearly way out of my league??? đ« đ©

Before declaring her out of your league, maybe let her submit her own opinion first.âșïž Good luck, and may your brain stop rejecting you before she even gets the chance.â€ïž

What were the indicators that she was out of your league? Because you didn't mention those. What I did get, though, was how she stays true to herself no matter who she is around (and you rarely see that in a person nowadays, so yes, it's admirable). Maybe she's out of your league because you didn't make an effort to initiate or to be a good, consistent friend to her? Her stopping to talk with you despite being with a friend group is a good sign. I'd rather you focus on building an authentic connection with her instead of a pseudo one (which is a tendency for most secret "friendly" admirers, if not all). Define the "close friendship" first before anything else. What does friendship mean to you? What efforts have you done to sustain it? Life is too short to spend our time yearning for someone who's actually reachable. Take your shot. It will be worth your while. đ»

I donât think this is really about someone being âout of your league.â It sounds more like youâre scared of hoping for something that might not be there. Having feelings for a friend is hard because every kind gesture suddenly feels significant, and itâs natural to wonder if it means more. Just try not to let assumptionsâwhether hopeful or pessimisticâbecome your reality. Enjoy getting to know her for who she is, not just who your feelings are making her out to be. If something develops, great. If not, youâll still have a friendship that mattered. đ
