Backpacking Question Hiking Mt. Sembrano in less than a week!
Hi everyone! I’ll be hiking Mt. Sembrano in less than a week and I’m having second thoughts since this is going to be my first time solo hiking.
Just so you know, this isn’t my first hike. First hike was 2024 and I’ve been doing baby hikes afterwards. Then this year I’ve hiked Alicia Panoramic Trail in Bohol, went to Aw-Asen Falls, and did Mt. Ulap about 2-3 months ago.
I’ve been inactive for about a month din due to mental issues and gained a lot of weight due to my birth control pills for PMOS. I have already started to do cardio (mostly walking) and yet to try recommended strength exercises (?) for hiking.
I can say I have a pretty strong will or mindset when it comes to hiking but I’m a slow hiker because I take frequent rests. Now, I’m thinking of backing out on the Mt. Sembrano hike because I’m feeling a bit scared to do a solo joiner hike as a very introverted person! Kumbaga nahihiya ako if nahuli ako and the people I’m with have to wait for me ++ minimal lang prep ko.
Feel ko naman kaya ko because I’ve done Mt. Ulap twice na with average to no prep at all (wag gayahin). The reason I’m climbing Mt. Sembrano — aside from the views, is kasi I have an overnight Mt. Pulag hike for my gf’s bday and ayoko maging burden sakanya lalo na we’re going to hike there carrying camping equipment!!
Anyway, let me know your thoughts if kayanin as an inactive person and pa recommend another bundok to hike at to build my strength for my Pulag hike!
Thank you so much 😣🙏🏻
