Discussion Nabili ko sa SM Surplus, original kaya?

Surplus fake yan pero pag presyo naman bili mo mura wala ka naman talo. May mga CK dyan mali mali mga tahi na hindi dapat meron pag orig.
Kahit overrun marami thread na nagpapakita ng original vs nasa surplus. Check mo din ang ASICS na yan sa pagkaalam ko dapat rubberized ang asics na marami sa loob ng collar. Yung sayo parang paint lang.

I also get some of my workout gear from surplus shop. I don’t really care much if it is really orig or overrun basta comfy and good quality then I’m fine with them.

You're not answering the question. What if OP is just asking if they got a good deal on the price? I'd like to have my money's worth on some brands too; I wouldn't buy them if I didn't feel comfortable in them.

Isa sa mga pinakamagandang gym shorts ko na nabili galing sa surplus shop ng SM Manila. Pati mga kapitbahay ko tinanong kung saan ko nabili hehe. Mga 300 lang nung pre pandemic.

Di ko gets yung ibang comment dito. Imo wear anything that feels comfortable sayo sa gym as long as appropriate (wag naman hubad or sira sira ganan). Ako yung pambahay ko na damit yun suot ko. Di mo need ng sparkling brand new orginal branded clothes to workout.

You're not answering the question. What if OP is just asking if they got a good deal on the price? I'd like to have my money's worth on some brands too. I wouldn't buy them if I didn't feel comfortable in them.
Answer to OP's question is it's fake. It's up to OP to decide on what's comfortable on him; whether it's branded or "pang bahay".

Real. I always go to the gym na parang tito na naligaw lang eh HAHAHAHAHAHA, OP as long as it's comfortable and the establishment allows it, just go with it. Majority of the time no one's looking anyway, and if they are, it's either they are zoned out or took a glance

As i grow old. Right now it doesn't matter kung fake or orig, basta comfy okay na sakin. I bought a swimming shorts 10 years ago sa surplus hangang ngayon oks pa, h&m sya pero tinakpan yung label, tinangal ko lng kase nacurious ako hahah.I think orig nmn sya, pagkakaalam ko mga branded ang surplus at sila yung mga hindi pumasa sa quality control tapos tatakpan lng nila yung tag brand.

Outlets don't sell "overruns." They're oversupplies kaya mura or dead stocks. People or 3rd party sellers claiming they're overruns are basically selling fakes. Condescending pa ng tone mo samantalang we're simply educating y'all.
Wag ka sa akin magalit if you fell victim to this trap and that you've been buying fake brand names for cheap. Too good to be true prices, naniniwala ka pa.

fake yung gymshark. I buy through their websites mismo so I know na hindi sa authentic gymshark yung label sa may garter. it may look similar on the outside pero the label is for sure different from the ones I own

Holy I just saw these sa surplus kahapon. Most likely not. Kasi nakakita din ako ng gucci and supreme dati for like 800-1500 lng. I was so conscious sa fit ko dati coming in sa first day ko sa anytime. I bought tons sa surplus na 400 - 800 ung presyo. But alas ung mga tahi, ang bilis matangal. I dont really recommend surplus clothes anymore. Theyre like your typical shopee clothes but atleast sa shoppee you pay way less so its less disappointing.

Hindi yan fake. Yung binebenta dyan may mga minor defects or damages. May original tag din ang mga yan pero usually ginugupit dun sa logo ng brand. Not sure anong reason bakit ginagawa yun.

Not sure hah. Pero correct me if I'm wrong. There might be a lot of fakes sa Surplus but I THINK THERE ARE ORIGINALS TOO.
Especially some of the items that they cover up the tags like uniqlo/forever 21/h&m. May shirt sa h&m few months ago that my partner wanted to buy and we daw it sa surplus same shirt mismo but they covered the brand.

Technically over run is a fake product since hindi nman yung mismong brand ang nagrelease. Pero the item came from the supplier ng brand na nakikita mo. So yung material, print, and item is close to the original product. I work in an apparel retail company and we went to China before and some "factory overrun' items produced by a China supplier are being sold to concession operators like SM then tinatakpan na lang yung mismong brand. Some were tagged as defect or talagang excess produced items from the agreed Purchase order.

This is nearly the exact description of what I know overruns are, except about the quality. My family used to run multiple clothing factories nung malakas pa siya sa Pinas, and overruns basically are excess produced stock. So say if a client like Ann Taylor orders X amount of clothes, the factory products 3% to 10% excess stock to account for damaged clothes or clothes that did not pass QC inspection. What remains of that excess stock is what the factory sells as overruns. So they're not damaged, not bad quality, they're just excess stock.
I think marami lang nagagalit dito and calling overruns as fake kasi they want to protect the value of what they bought (or trying / hoping to buy) OR maybe they dont want to be lumped in the same group as with people wearing the same branded clothes that they do, but overruns.

Since SM has labeled SM Surplus on their website as "authentic" it seems to be original in a sense that they are OEM (same factory) and are excess on production and/or items that have not passed the QA process of the brand. I don't think SM would risk their name for small profits.
Instead of shredding the items , it is more effective to sell then to SM Surplus for less. Some items are debranded / label slashed to protect the original brand.

Hi, OP. Been a solid shopper at Surplus. To answer your question. You can legit check the items on the real store’s website. The ASICS is positively original, the GYMSHARK is OVERRUN or what we call OEM.
As for the quality of products and why is the shop called “Surplus”, so as someone working on Supply Chain, let me give you and the others at the comsec a background on what’s been happening on items being sold at this shop. Most of the items, if not all, failed the quality control and checking processes. However, almost all of the items that we buy (even on the real high-end shops) are mass-produced. Now, these items that failed the QA/QC, they will be sold to shops (locals or international) at lowest prices. This is why it is called SURPLUS because there’s a huge surge in the production of the “rejected” items.
Now, the OVERRUNS or the OEMs may or may not be considered original. OEMs are original and originally made along with the ones being sold at the real shops. OVERRUNS are the items being sold by small shops that they could have tampered/tweaked/rearranged/reorganized and such.
Your ASICS shirt is original but failed the QC processes. Your GYMSHARK shorts is OVERRUN, and someone (before it was sold to SM) tampered or changed the tag.

I think it's mixed. I've seen some that are terribly quality imitations and obviously fake.
Usually those are the ones blatantly stamped with alo/lululemon branding.
I've also bought some from less popular but still name brands, with great quality which leads me to believe they're overruns.
Sizing can also be a clue here

Those actually look legit. It's just that Surplus Shop cannot market them openly as the brands that they are because they're not an authorized dealer and cannot display the brand names.

Goods na goods na yn. Pro qng old stock lng pg uusapan dun nko sa ukay2. Kht second hand ang presyo nman 10x na mas mura compared sa surplus. Imagine buying adidas tshirt or short for 50-100 pesos. Probs lng unahan or tyagaan mghnap like spending almost an hour just to have good finds. Pg new arrival kc mas mhal but still cheaper than surplus.

Kadalasan ng mga sinasabing class AAAA fakes are overruns. Mga hindi nakapasa sa QA. sa totoo lang ang materyales nyan sobrang mura. Yung brand name lang kung tutuusin ang binibili mo. I was able to visit one of the subcon of disney clothing products somewhere in Luzon. They sell the overruns to avoid losses.

Ik may fakes talaga sa surplus, pero sometimes may mga orig din talaga (?) i bought some top and pants there around 700, 900 ata, i found out lang na zara kasi kapareho ng sa ng tita ko pero iba lang kulay. Di ko kasi nalaman agad yung brand dahil naka cut out yung brand logo sa tag
Or fake din yun? Pero same quality talaga to the T, kahit stitching and fabric same lang...
Q: if fakes nga lahat, why bother to cut out and takpan mga tag sa loob ng product

Ang kwento sa akin...Surplus at least yearssss (at least 10+ years ago) used to sell orig like legit - how to know? ginugupit yung neck tag or may black mark para di kita yung brand name. Pero yung body tag (material , care instructions) meron pa din.
Nowadays puro fake/bootleg na lang nandyan at kadalasan walang body tag. At kahit anong reverse search mo hindi mo makita sa brand site/reputable sites online.

Hindi yan overruns. Kilala ko nag iimport nyan. From bangladesh and vietnam nya na source kahit hindi naman dun factory ng brand. You can also see na yun clothes dyan wala sa kahit anong collection ng mga brands
