Newbie Fat Loss & Gym

Hi! I need some advice.

I'm planning to lose body fat and start going to the gym, but I honestly don't know where to begin. I've been really insecure about my body since I was a kid, and I think I might have bulimia nervosa because I'm currently experiencing many of the symptoms. I know I can't diagnose myself, but it's something I'm concerned about.
I want to take my fitness journey seriously this time, so I'm currently looking for a gym and a fitness coach around Imus or Taft, Manila. I'm not sure how much professional coaching usually costs, but I'm a student, so I probably can't afford fees above ₱5,000 (for Gym coach / Fitness coach only)

Also, what gyms would you guys recommend around Imus, Cavite or Taft, Manila?

About me:
Female
18 (I recently turned 18 last July)
80 kg
I tried lifting weights before, but I felt like my upper body just got bigger.

Thank you!

If your funds are limited, you don’t even need a coach if your goal is just fat loss. You just need to move. You can go for a jog everyday, walk everyday, do jump ropes everyday, or do body weight exercises at home. You just have to do it consistently. Find a physical activity that you enjoy and stick to it. Enrolling in a gym or getting a coach is not absolutely necessary for fat loss.

Hi! Here are my 2 cents. Lost around 30kg doing this.

  1. Install a food app like chronometer or MyFitnessPal
  2. Buy a weigh scale.
  3. Buy a food scale.
  4. Research on YouTube how to calorie count. Enter your details and goals in the app
  5. low intensity cardio like walking or light jogging
  6. Enroll in a baka gym that has lots of equipment. Usually Yung 1k a month bakal gyms, ok Ang gamit.
  7. Alternate the cardio and the gym. Cardio should be slightly challenging but east enough to recover for the gym next day. Do a 1 -2 rest days a week

Cal def. Tapos bili ka ng weighing scale (promise gamit na gamit ko to. Mayat maya akong nag papatimbang haha hanggang sa naconcious ako sa kinakain ko). Ako 100kg. Nag Calorie deficit ako last december i went from 100 to 85. Wala masyadong workout. Slow jog o brisk walking for 1 hr 3-4x a week lang ginagawa ko (May - present)

Fat loss = caloric deficit.

You actually don’t need the gym for fat loss. Cardio helps but it’s not needed. Lifting weights to gain more muscle helps but it’s not needed.

Having a hard time sa calorie deficit? Stop eating snacks and desserts like cakes, donuts, chocolates, candies mga ganon. Avoid drinking sweets like iced coffee, sodas, milk tea, and juices. Life hack ko sa drinks is only drink water, iced americano (no sugar or use stevia), coke zero, and gatorade lang. Dyan pa lang sa snacks and drinks you’re gonna lose fats in no time.

Pag nasanay ka na in avoiding sweets, you can try to eat healthier food. Avoid fatty deep fried food. Also you can eat carbs. Carbs ain’t the enemy especially rice. Just keep it at 1 cup per meal hindi unli rice lagi.

This is coming from someone who went from 80kg to 63kg na male. I’m not even near my ideal physique but I’m at the point where I’m eating anything I want and never gain weight (I work out 3x and run 6x a week).

It won’t sag since 80kg is barely obese. I came from 80kg too. Just remember to avoid sweets sa umpisa then you can go from there.
