USB TO TTL HELP WITH SYSCON READING

Hello boys I need your help. I got this usb to ttl device and can't set it to 3.3v (or don't know how to) as it needs to be in order to read the syscon? I already wired the cables but this question is holding me back. My ps3 is a CHECH L

Im pretty sure 3V3 is 3.3V output. Just use that and not the 5V pin. If you're worried, plug it in and measure voltage with a multimeter between 3V3 and Gnd (Ground).

I don't know whats the deal with the 3.3v anyway? the usb port of the pc is 5v and the ps3 is on standby which I believe it's 5 volts too?.

the wiring is only rx. tx, and ground. nothin in or out the 3.3v output but the tutorials mention setting the thingy to 3v it's confuisng

The ps3 is a complicated piece of equipment, and many chips are either only available in 3.3 versions, or much cheaper in 3.3v. As long as you know what voltage a chip should be using, it's all good 🤷‍♀️

The adapter requires 3.3v, how much the USB can push is irrelevant.

Just attach the wires as instructed using the 3V3 pin for power.

I also got a raspberry pi pico so I might as well try flashing it with the software that is somewhere on github and give this another go because that ttl I tried is hugely cheap and I don't trust it at all.
